Hello,

My first post after lurking around for a long time.
Please if anybody could help were to look I would be very pleased.

Just bought a black knight 2000 and I love it but there is somekind of problem.

It sometimes takes around 30 seconds before the machine gives the ball!
It does that when he cannot find it. When I shoot for the multiball he sometimes does not know
What is happening.

Also the switch at the "w" does not register often
And the right slingshot keept reacting to all the coils.

I tought the switches would not be good but in test mode they all work great when I test them with a ball! ?

Any help would be very welcome since my technical knolage is limited...

Power off, remove the plastic over the slingshot points. Look down at them. They should be clean, and not all bent up. Front long one resting on the rubber ring, shorter rear one far enough away so vibration doesn't set it off, yet the slightest ball hit does.

A little adjusting and you'll learn how to fix it.

adjust switches wire on the ball through lane sometime machine " does not feel a ball " that s why is searching balls same adjust for the W switch

In switch edges test apply some shock with your fist on playfield and see if any switch is actuated by shocks

Good luck with the fix and I am of no help, but I found it funny that you referred to your pin as he a couple of time. I guess it is BK.

That's okay. I type in English all the time and often it looks Dutch too from my fat little fingers passing each other on the keyboard.

Hello and thanks for responding!
I already tried to adjust everything in good order. That would be easy to adjust.
The strange thing is everything works perfect in test modus.
Naturally I checked all the switches with a ball and not a finger.

I really cannot find any wrong adjustments. The strange thing is a came across a old post somewere with a bk2000 owner that had the excact same problem! To bad I cannot contact him and there were no post with the solution...

Any more bk2000 owners who could help me out?
I really want to have him in great working condition before new years eve ! -) PARTY

Oh and here is the old post I found

However, the game starts up and plays fine with 2 noticable problems.

1. the right slingshot fires randomly and frequently when no ball is
touching it.

2. When the ball drains there is an inordinate amount of time between
a.) drain and score tally, b.) between the score tally and the kickout
of the next ball. The total delay can be 40+ seconds.
Periodically the machine will think a ball has been played and will
re-tally the minimum score and skip the current ball and go on to the
next ball.

Any clues to solving these problems?

Thanks,
Skip

Could be a shorted switch or diode what confuses the switch matrix. Most likely in my opinion

#15 11 years ago

Could also be a corrupted ROM. What software version are you running?

#16 11 years ago

Hello , still not found it. The software he is running on is 563 pu1
Could this be the problem?

I had the same problem with my Whirlwind (same vintage pin). The game wouldn't recognize a ball drain for a long time. The game would then fire all the selenoids looking for a lost ball, and that would kick the ball into the ball trough, and then recognize the ball drain. I had this problem several times. Once it was just a matter of adjusting (bending) the SW actuating wire. The other time I had broken solder joints on two PF SW's...Right cellar and one of the pop bumpers. Resoldered the SW wires, and all was good. I don't know what the connection was with the PF SW's and the outhole/ball trough SW's.

Look at row 4 white yellow i think here is your problem in. Look for broken wire or short. For example the problem could be laying by the center coin chute. Also check connector 1j10-6

Does it actually say tilt on the display, or does it just shut down and restart as if you turned off the power at the switch?
If its the tilt being shown I would look at the plumb bob to make sure its not stuck or out of adjustment.Mine did the same thing during game play, didn't show tilt, but would just randomly do weird things like restart on its own.Ended up being 2 rom chips which confused the CPU
