I once came across and used some scans someone had made to overlay the wear in the pop bumper area on a Haunted House.

I have found a nice Black Hole playfield, but while the majority of the playfield is excellent and mylar removal went well, the area around the pops is badly worn.

Any similar scans floating about?

If not, someone sure as heck needs to make them. That whole area is a disaster area on most BH's....it's the primary reason I've never pursued buying one. Every time I get pics of a potential game, it's grey dirty wood there. >_<

Sorry to hijack a little, but I would love to get ahold of those HH scans you mentioned for my current restore.

Did anyone ever make these pop bumper scans?

It’s so common from what I gather. I would like to make it look nicer than it does. One suggestion someone told me was to paint it solid black. Ideally I’d like to avoid that.

Surprises me this isn't an available option to fix the many worn playfeilds out there my Black Hole i have been sitting on works and is played but just doesn't look that great mismatched drop targets pop bumper wear etc. Had been letting it go when word got out that Classic playfeild Restoration had gotten a bigger sander that could do wide body playfeilds. The hope was that we would maybe get a new playfeild from them but nothing has happened and last i read the idea was not even on the table. If we can't get a sticker for the whole area or a sticker for each bumper we would be set. I guess it may be time to see if maybe we can get a playfeild overlay. The issue i see in that is needing to add spacers to the window otherwise ball would hop around window to overlay edge. I don't see every Black Hole owner shipping out the stripped playfeild for full restoration work either.

I stumbled across this old thread while looking for this exact fix for my beat up playfield. I assume nothing was ever created.

And as much as I'd love to just buy the new Mirco playfield set, it's not a viable option for me. Since there are fresh playfields out there, maybe a pop bumper area scan would now be feasible?

If anyone is willing and able to scan this area, I'd be interested in having something cost effective created for myself and others that want to refresh this badly beaten area.

Not to my knowledge but since my last post new playfeilds have been made but cost is keeping me away and the fact mine is not bad enough to justify the investment. I like a nice game like everyone else but don't have a money tree and a new playfeild would make rest of game look worse ie more cost to fix the rest. may still do it some day but i rather get more games then sink loads of money in to just one game.
