My new black hole is blowing the F10 fuse on gameplay then showing an SW06 bumper error.

I did manually move the pop bumpers prior to getting this error and noticed my upper center coil was slightly stiff, but still moveable. I also cleaned all the contacts of the switches after getting the error.

I do not believe any of the pop boards have been modified but I am curious if it is the board needing the upgrade or if I have an issue with a switch or coil.

Except the manual says F10 is for the right pop, not the upper center. Guess you could try switching the pop boards around for those two pops and see if the issue changes or moves but it could be a short in the pop coil too or problem with the coil's diode or it's the wrong coil.

I swapped the boards, it still blew the F10. I then checked the upper right diode, out of circuit, it tested good. I ohmed the coil and it looks fine. It is an a-1496.

How many volts do you have on the one side (266 Red -Blue-Blue) of the fuse? Should be 38 volts. The manual confirms this. See attached pic.

Do you have the correct fuse type installed? Sorry, we just like to ask here. Have you inspected the pop bumber area for a loose wire touching metal, causing a direct ground short, causing the fuse to blow.

I know I had a problem putting the pinwiki recommended 2 & 1/2 amp fuse in the lower tube kicker but it blew after a few weeks so I upped it to 4a. It uses about the same coil as the pops. Not suggesting you do this to the pop coil, just saying that if your coil has a partial short in the windings it could cause the correct fuse to blow. Especially since yours works for a while and then blows.

I will check the voltage at the fuse this evening. I have been putting a 2A slow blow in. I don't have any 2.5s. I did end up blowing the F13 fuse when I swapped the boards. I did check for metal possibly shorting and that does not appear to be an issue. I need to pull the pb board, I believe I may have a failed transistor.

Oh boy, now that is a game changer when u swap boards. So I would be doing the uprgrades to these pop boards for sure. I remember when Steve Charland(god rest his sweet soul in heaven) helped me years and years ago modify my pop bumber boards with test LED's features. Was a great upgrade feature.

Get out the meter and test that transitor, better yet, rebuild those boards if you have the skill set.
