Hi all, I have a strange problem I'm trying to figure out. I have one single playfield light that is dim, all other lights are good and bright. It's part of the yellow target bank on the bottom of the right side of the playfield and it's the top one in the bank of 4. Voltage is low @ 5.3V and the other lights in the same series are around 6.9V. I tried a new socket and that didn't change anything. Any ideas on where to go with this one? Thanks

Where the wires are coming that go to that lamp socket, probably a poor connection there.

LTG : )

How did you measure the voltage?

I measured voltage from the ground strap to the leg of the lamp socket. Same process for all four lamps in this section.

And even through they should all be connected directly together, you get a different voltage?

Three of the four have the same voltage. The dim lamp is the only different voltage. They all share the same ground strap but each appear to have their own individual power wires and don’t appear tied together at the lamps... unless they are on the other end.

It's not a ground strap, that strap is what carries the 6v. The board grounds them individually.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. Any thoughts on why one would be different?

Bad socket? Socket not fully soldered to braid?

#10 6 years ago

I replaced the socket already and no change.

What's the resistance from the braid to the lamp body?

Replaced the driver board today and now the lamp works...
