Had some issues recently with a Black Hole I bought in February. I’ll preface all of this by saying I’ve gone through the manual several times, have checked fuses, done all of the self tests (see #3) and am moderately aware of other owners problem from searching through these forums. What happened - My kids got a ball stuck then tilted it then finally shut it off when they couldn’t get it to work, and all sorts of stuff has happened since.

1) we had it set to (what seemed like) freeplay, but then we had to add quarters. And its been extremely random with how many we need and what slot.

2) On startup theres no sound and none of the solenoids are firing. When I attempt pushing the start button or add quarters, it will jump to “1 ball in play” but still nothing works. I do have all three balls in the first slot.

3) I have done the self test and it seemed to work ok at first, but now no solenoids are firing, and on 18 it lists: 2,3,4,12,13,14,15,22,23,32. I DID revise the switches a few times. First I only changed a couple based on what I was thinking it should do. Then I switched them to what someone had written in the manual, then I found another sheet of paper and switched them to that. I finally found a thread here about this and changed it to that user’s settings. I’ll post a pic.

Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Did the ball get stuck in the lower playfield? If the ball gets stuck in the lower playfield I found that you need to get it unstuck and have it fire up through the re-entry tube. If you just grab it and put it back in the trough the game gets really confused.

It’s a pain and be careful and be ready to catch the ball when it comes firing up the tube!
