The black hole I acquired has had modified sound. They added an amplifier and 2 speakers in stereo. I know little about pinball and less about sound systems.
There are 2 pots one to control total volume one to change the amount of treble. The hum is always there even if you turn volume to zero. Previous owner said was there while he had it as well. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Sound cabling is running past tons of wiring with 60Hz AC or 120Hz rectified DC. This induces nicely into un-shielded wiring.

1 -- move that amp far away from that huge magnetic inducer: the transformer.
2 -- make sure the AMP is grounded well.
3 -- use shielded wiring and ground the shields.

Is shielded wiring something I can swap with existing?
I can def do the first 2. Just unfamiliar with shielded wiring. Thank you for the advice
