Anyone here considering that deal for the 6 BH parts machines TnT amusements is selling for $2500? They have an ad on the Facebook pinball buy, sell, trade group.

I did sell the package Sunday...the man prefers to remain unknown for now...but he did say after he has figured things out, he WILL be selling parts and backglasses...and will post them on Pinside....but it wont be for awhile! .Todd

http://shayarcadegroup.com/ was making some new ones, no idea if they are ready or not. You could contact them and find out.

Thanks! Believe me, I've tried to contact them. No response from the emails I've sent them. If nothing else pans out, I'll just keep trying I guess.

A quick update on my ongoing quest to make my pop bumpers snappy and responsive--i finally took the time to add a layer of mylar (actually 2 tiny squares each) over each pop bumper coil stop in order to stop the bumpers from magnetizing. I had at least 2 bumpers that would do it on occasion but i decided to do all 6. What a difference! I'm finally really happy with the pop bumpers on this game, i always felt like they could have been a bit better. Rebuilt pbdb boards, new switches, rebuild bumpers, adjust switches a million times, etc etc. Even if the bumpers aren't magnetizing, adding something to cut off the effect of it on the plunger still seems to help. For what it's worth i had old and new coil stops magnetize.

Not sure, I'm thinking that is referring to the outer glass and the killer, no shipping.
I'll contact them though, just in case. Thanks!

Have you tried Mayfair amusement? I know they have early Gottlieb as I got A NOS BG for my star race from them. Better to just contact them by email and order.

Yeah, I did contact Mayfair. They do not have one unfortunately. They do have an outer glass that's in nice shape though if anyone is looking.

Another outer glass.

I'm sure something will work out eventually...

Thanks for trying everyone! Much appreciated

Anyone have any tips on sealing the inner backglass? Have one tiny bit bubbling up and some crazing on the blue plastic covering but it's overall pretty nice looking when closed up. Would like to prevent it from getting gnarly.

#1712 43 days ago

Triple thick is the go to. There is a bazillion threads on it if you do a search

#1713 43 days ago

I'm aware of and have used Triple Thick on other glasses. I searched specifically for Black Hole since it has the big round blankness in the middle and the blue windows. Wasn't sure if there was a strategy to do it "correctly".

#1714 42 days ago

Ive never seen anyone specifically talk about protecting the BH backglass, so you probably wont find much. Sorry.

Maybe that's why I can't find one.

Could you just mask off the clear areas before spraying? Use something low tack especially on the blue film windows.
That or try spraying a piece of clear glass to see how it looks before attempting on the BG.
Definitely don't want to ruin it. Apparently they're hard to come by

Triple thick on clear glass for me always leaves it a bit hazy. I wouldn't want it on anything translucent. But masking off that center window would be really complicated since it has such weird borders/edges

#1717 42 days ago

Maybe I'll just box in the problematic spots to hold them down. Like literally put a box boarder around the small lifting spot and just spray within there, with something light covering the other areas to prevent overspray.

Mine started peeling in a few places so I just used packing tape

Does anybody have a spinning disk motor? Mine is starting to make some noise and I’m not sure how long it will hold up. Thanks in advance!

The OEM motor sucks. The aftermarket one is actually much better. I believe there is pinsider that sells the part you need. If not, you can score one on ebay.

I do have a new 3RPM from servo city but found it to spin a little fast so I went with a 2RPM. If interested in 3RPM send me a pm

Original motor is 6.5 rpm

My buddy just made me a 3D printed plastic coupler for newer more common ones with larger shaft. Yeah a hardware store really Frigged mine up. Anyhow i mentioned making clear so light able to get to entire disc so I will be trying that out sometime soon.

#1723 25 days ago

Got a mate giving my playfield some touch ups and a clear. Colours look amazing. Bottom left is similar to what the finished product will look like, but it all needs to be taken back again a few times to get perfectly level.

Would he want to put the model up on Thingiverse? i just got the larger 2rpm motor off ebay. I have a printer, but if someone has a model done I won’t bother designing my own.

I’m looking at buying a black hole that is missing all the boards in the back box. I want to confirm what boards I will need. I am looking at buying Pascal boards. Here is the list I have so far:
1 PI-80 board
1 Sound/Speech board with SC01 chip (I’ll need ROM chips)
1 speech sound power supply board
1 aux driver board (off eBay possibility)
Have I overlooked anything?

#1726 5 days ago

Power supply board? Pi-80 is that replacing mpu and driver ?
6 boards is what I remember
Power for 5v logic, and display HV
MPU
driver
Sound
Sound power
And auxiliary lamp chase

I’m pretty sure the P1-80 board takes the place of the power board as well. The biggest problem I see right now is the missing inter-board harnesses, especially between the Sound board and the sound power supply.

#1728 5 days ago

Have you talked to Pascal ? There may be an all in one board, if my memory is correct.

I am thinking all but the chase board.

From the Black Hole Guide on his site, it appears the all in one board does not support the SC-01 sound chip. So if I had an export version, then I could do just the all in one... however I want the speech too, so I will needs the sound/speech combo that supports the SC-01 chip.

#1730 4 days ago

He sells the sound boards that go with the all in one as well. I have two of his sound boards in my pins and they are great!

#1731 3 days ago

He is really good about answering emails, so just send him an email and ask him what you need. He will get you all setup.

I believe the back box to my black hole is missing the door latch hardware. Could someone post a picture of the latching hardware? Does anyone know if the hardware was common to any other Gottlieb game?
