Ok The B&W Twilight Zone is nearing completion. Never thought I would see this day. 95 complete. Need to add a few more mods. Mirror blades, new armor, then some play testing and tweaks.

That might be the coolest thing I've ever seen. Thank you. when you see it in black and white it looks completely natural and BETTER. Should have been this way all along. It's perfect!

Simply Priceless!! We do however need to do something about that single blue rubber on the right wire ramp! lol What a work of art and effort, congrats #GAP!
Lol on the blue rubber. Was working late last night, was getting delusional and the blue rubber didnt even register in the old brain.
Quoted from GAP:Not at this time. Going to bring it to expo.
For some reason I thought this was for a customer...
Is this your personal machine?
No its not for a customer. Started this 5 years ago, it got sidelined for awhile. Picked it back up this year.
Quoted from pintechev:Will this be for sale?
If it ever goes for sale, there may be a contender for highest priced TZ ever!!
Ok lets be honest for Mike... EVERYTHING is for sale if we are talking TBL money lol. Seeing this in person however I can see how it would be hard to let go. Absolutely stunning, especially when you see it next to a stock machine. The finest details he put into this piece really show and it fits this theme like no other in my opinion.

Take it expo... then sell to me. Name your price!
Five years is a long time for rebuilding a pin, but TZBW looks killer. Final touches needed include a white clock board and some mirror blades. Would love to see a short video of the finished product and gameplay. Planning to watch it wearing a bib and with a drool bucket handy. This pin deserves the velvet rope treatment.

This is very cool. I don’t check too many of these threads because I live the project thing all day long but that really looks just like a black and white photo.
5 years well spent.
I love it, in the pictures there are only some minor tell tale signs the images were not done in only B & W, very well done!
Chris, Coming from you that means a lot! Your work is the best and you inspire all of us that restore machines to refine our process. Thanks for taking the time to check in.
GAP
These pics are messing with my eyes. It looks like all photos are manipulated or just taken in B&W. Crazy! Tremendous job!
Quoted from GAP:White clock board is coming today, mirror blades a must. I like what you just did there!
I am glad the white clock board is finally coming in as the green one just really catches the eye! So very cool, awesome job!!!
WTF?! A knife is pointing at my eye. What happened to the blue bumper pad at the right ramp exit? Shouldn't it be black
Quoted from Midway-Man:WTF?! A knife is pointing at my eye. What happened to the blue bumper pad at the right ramp exit? Shouldn't it be black
And now the price dropped 20%.
Joke aside.
Great idea and an amazing project!
Just incredible job, congratulations! Even if I prefer the color version This will be THE pin to show at conventions.
I worked on the game a little tonight. Put in white clock board, replaced armor with a largwr silver flaked powder coat , added Mystic Sear shooter rod. Tomorrow adding Robby Robot mod, talking Tina mod and airliner mod, all black and white with white leds. A Special guest will be here to give me a hand putting in the mods.

I think you are missing a metal post in from of the piano? And just on Opinion, this game is SOOOO classy I personally don't think the shooter knob fits the amazing finish and result. Just me personally!
My eye wants to see color, where there is none. An incredible job! This is beyond “collectors quality”...truly one of a kind...and collectors quality”. Well done. If it is ever sold. It is worth every penny. . If not. The builder and family should enjoy what nobody has...an incredible game.
This is truly amazing! What a great eye for detail to go all the way. Who could've thought that there was a white PCB available for the clock?!
With all those details in black & white It does bother me a bit that the wooden playfield is so yellow. Why haven't you painted it white or something? The clearcoat would protect the paint in the shooter lane just as it does on the playfield right?
Special guest you say, mmmh. Designer Pat Lawlor would be super cool. Pat dressed in black jeans and white t-shirt and sneakers would make color pic look b&w. The Mod Couple or Mezlemod would be appropriate choices too if they brought mods along. Maybe Jack Danger is coming to stream the game or Marty A from PinballNews is doing a story. Is pinball historian LTG coming to tells us what pinball was like when TZ was released maybe? or Roger Sharp to give the game his seal of approval. It would be an honor if fellow restorers CLH or HEP were there to look it over. Or did someone throw down $25 large and are coming back to pick up their new game?
Hanging loose and waiting to find out who the guest will be. If guest is actually special, my guess would turn to Pinside Petey, the rootingest, tootingest, slurringest, funniest podcaster around.
I think if I do another one we will convert the shooter lanes to black and white. This was a complete adventure and learning process and the playfield was the hardest part. The playfield is what side lined this project for 3 years. A company said they would help us and strung us along. So we took it upon ourselves to figure out next steps on playfield. We didn't know if sanding down a playfied would work. We didnt know how the printers would print to the wood. We resanded once due to a fuzzy 1st print. Now thay we have the process down and if I do a second one we will definetly do the shooter lane. Thanks for all the suggestions and thanks to all the people that helped me on here.
Plus one on the new flake rails. Looks amazing. Never noticed the shooter lane so you get a pass but come on we need a custom set of Pin Fottiez in white come on Bryan! Lol. Now she need a matching blanket to keep her hands free.

Absolutely unbelievably fantastic job on that machine and I really like the wooden areas the same as they are on any other machine. I think if you paint it white it will look too fake or like an overlay, I love the way it looks now.
Not feeling the shooter rod either but no biggie. Pin just looks fantastic. The speckle trim powder coat looks tremendous! Really like that and looks perfect with the b/w theme. Great job seeing this project through. I wouldn't even know where to begin doing something like this.
Absolutely beautiful game. I agree that the wood would look better in gray scale but amazing work. Now you might be able to get CPR to do your custom playfield.
Quoted from Whysnow:Is the spiral wireform available anywhere?
I am not big on TZ mods, but that is one I would like to try out.
I second that...
