Did you re-flow the solder on those original header pins on both the power board and the CPU board? Ideally you should replace the header pins to modern square pins or the Trifuricon connector isn't nearly as effective.
Loosen and re-tighten the mounting screws on the voltage regulator on the power board.

No, that is for the lamp matrix.
Where did you get that regulator. Almost guaranteed it's a fake if its from eBay.
The 2 screws are part of the voltage regulator cirtuit. Make sure there is connectivitiy (zero ohms) from the regulator case to ground. Did you reflow solder on those header pins?
