Quoted from dasvis:
That Royal flush looked pretty nice, & priced at a fairly reasonable $1000.
what is a deal on the west coast is pricey on the east.
it is all supply and demand.
I picked up a nice ED for 300 but PA is the land of plenty !
Quoted from NicoVolta:
What I HAVE noticed is the relative disappearance of EM's from auctions and online sales around here (Texas):
Yeah, I noticed that too, here in Dallas. It's strange, as if someone flipped a switch. I wish I'd known things would dry up like this, or I'd have stocked up.
Only explanation I can think of is people have started perceiving them differently: the old machine in the storage unit has gone from "get that crusty old thing out of here" to "hey that's a cool vintage item. let's hang on to it.", or "dude, don't put that on CL, I heard they're worth a lot. look it up on eBay"
The "Antiques Road Show" phenomenon (i.e. anything old is priceless) can't have just kicked in...Gotta be something else.
It's not just Dallas, it's not just regional, it's nationwide (with the exception of the usual PA/CA/Chicago areas which still trickle them out).
National CL search is only fetching 3 pages per day now. I don't know what is going on... but it has been like this for well over a year. We might see another deluge if the economy tanks. Otherwise, not much going on except the typical overpriced/dubious condition eBay madness.
Ken & Howard had the right idea... road trip w/trailer.
