Quoted from Skyemont:I got this for my B-Day
Were you born yesterday?
Quoted from o-din:Were you born yesterday?
Some confusion between. A pin released on your birthdate. A pin bought for your birthday.
Quoted from illawarra92:november 1964..ground up resto of my happy clown..mobile phone not allowing me to post a video..will try later from home.
What a coincidence Phoebe... I just bought the same machine for the same reason! The big 5 0 is a month away and the machine is on its way. Kind of a gamble of a purchase so we'll see if I spent foolishly.
My birthday pin is Williams 1966 8-Ball by Norm Clark. It was released Jan. 17th 1966 and I was born Jan. 14th 1966. I was restoring one for a friend in Aus. and I did some research on it because I fell in love with the colors. While I was researching it, I found out the release date and that Norm designed it. (which sealed it that I had to have one) and if you look at the 2 gentlemen on the BG, 1 has N C on his cuff links for Norm Clark, and one has S K for Steve Kordek. It took me about 3 years to find one for myself (a good friend in MI picked it up for me in the dead of Winter, and held it for me till the Ohio show and brought it to me there). I have the BG restored (I had talked to Norm after finally finding one and he was going to sign the BG for me at Expo that Oct. but he passed away in April so I never got to show him my game) but I haven't gotten to the PF or Cab. (Needs much TLC and re-paint) yet.
Phoebe

Quoted from girloveswaffles:The Only pin I could find on IPDB for the month / year I was born is Williams Ten Spot.

You could sure do a whole lot worse.
Not saying it's bad. I've never seen one before either. It's just odd that that's the only pin listed that month, yet there are several the month before and after.
Thank goodness I have three to choose from. Only one I would be happy to own in the future.
Zaccaria - Spooky

Otherwise it would have had to been either
Premier - Spring Break
http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=2324
Or the one and only
Bally - Hardbody

Well, the good news... it actually IS a really good game. Also highly rated on the IPDB and has somehow managed to escape the saboteurs that can drag the ratings way down on a great game, many haven't been so lucky.
Quoted from oldcarz:Closest that I own to my birth date is Genco's Springtime, March, 1952 (no April/52 in my collection)
Dennis and I leading the Geritol club?
Jeez, I'm in that club also.
Quoted from presqueisle:I love those pre-war pins!
That pin must be 50 years by now.....hey wait
Quoted from heatwave:Of the games listed for April, 1960, my favorite (which I don't own) would be Gottlieb Wagon Train. Always loved the artwork on that one.
It is a real good looking game and plays well too.
I have not come across the only pinball machine listed as being made the month I was born yet, but given time I'm sure someday I will.
Quoted from roc-noc:Mr. Pinball Price Guide has a section called Chronological by Manufacturer.
That is where I found mine. Been looking for two years.
12/1952 Gottlieb - Queen of Hearts - recently purchased but not yet delivered.
12/1952 Williams - Twenty Grand - found a ratty example but passed. Still looking.
I have a twenty grand I am selling for a friend, needs work.
my B-day is this month
year was 1955
So guess I got a few to choose from;
WMS was very busy that month.
IF i had to make a choice, I think Regatta looks the most interesting,
with Can Can coming in second.
Regatta there is potential to win many replays
if you can get thru (the 1-5 sequence) by lighting up all the flags
4 times.
