I am making this separate thread to update you all on a conversation that I had with Frans today regarding the cleaning video and the detergents/degreaser used. This methodology has worked well as over the years as testamonials from owners in the UK have atested to.

We still use the same degreaser as we showed in our little film. But as before I can only guess where it is made of. The producer decided to make it again and we use it when starting a big restoration.
But as I wrote, after that you have to dismantle the machine in pieces. Mind you, the bingo’s we are working on are most of the times much worse that you are use to in the USA. They are most of the times very dirty, badly damaged and there is a lot of work on them.
I made a picture of the Neatsfoot Oil I am using.

The Can Can is one of my favorites and really the smartest.

Hi Frans,
Nice to hear from you. The bingo cleaning video has always sparked a reaction here in the States, and I have commented at least three times in the last few years on its merits.
If I may ask;
• What detergent, degreaser did you settle on after stopping using the magic stuff?
• Can I use your comments in the email as an update to the forum?
• Lastly what type of neat’s-foot oil pure or compound or different do you use on your restorations.
My Can Can game is still working well and I enjoy it very much.

I saw your message on the Forum about cleaning the inside of a bingo using a detergent. You have to know that after degreasing and using a lot of hot water the bingo is taken apart in bits and pieces at once.
In this way we are building a brand new Bally bingo, many times using new motors and wearing items as leathers, (spotting) indexes and lots of new coil stops! Also we put them together with light oil as the detergent has removed all oil and you have to keep the rust away. Anyway, after the restoration the machines play and look like new.

Regarding the cleaning material
I contacted the guys in the Netherlands 'Frans and Coos' a few years ago. They both have different internet sites with English translations. I asked them what is the Magic spray and the Sorbo Blue Wonder made of?
Frans answered as follows;
"The problem with the magic stuff and the Sorbo is that the first product is no longer for sale as it was too aggressive and Sorbo is just an ordinary Dutch detergent, used for all kinds in the housekeeping. We bought the Magic Stuff in big cans and as far as we know the staple is a sodium hydroxide solution. So you can try to dissolve tablets of the dishwasher as those are pretty aggressive. But all you need is a strong degreaser which will do the job and I am sure there are a lot of those over in the USA."

Possibly use 'Purple power at a 50/50 strength instead of the magic spray which I suspect is a drain cleaner.
