Its for sure a generational thing.

This movie gained cult status because cable tv had just come out and this was a premium channel film that we would watch over and over again. Kim Catrell at her hottest although her sex scene in Porky's was classic. Aaawwwoooo!!!
Thanks I couldn't remember her nick name. I can only imagine how lame a remake of porky's would be in the PC world we live in today. Other cable classics of the era . . . Excaliber, 9 and 1/2weeks, American Gigolo, Videodrome, Funhouse, Breaking Away, Up the Academy, Against All Odds, Starman . . . please remind me of some more.
Ugh...why do they do this? They'll just trash and ruin the original spirit like everything else sacred. I guess if Jumanji can make nearly a billion worldwide ($400M Domestically and $541M Foreign) then that sort of justifies it.
Quoted from hAbO:Ugh...why do they do this?
Quoted from TheLaw:Looks legit
" This is the 1986 secuel of Kurt Russel "
As I said before I wouldn't take it too seriously.
"John Carpenter on Big Trouble in Little China remake: 'no one's talked to me about it'"
All the info on it is super old. Remember when they were for sure doing Escape from new York Remake with Gerard Butler?
Quoted from TouchingEvil:My new poster from bottleneck gallery.
Drew Struzan that made the original poster has printed up 150 new ones that glow in the dark and sign them. I got one
Soooo happy!
Glows in the dark? Do you have a pic of that?
Quoted from gliebig:Glows in the dark? Do you have a pic of that?
Quoted from TouchingEvil:For me Big trouble in little china is the best movie of all time, i grow up with it and just love it.
I think it would be a great pinball theme,
Yes indeed!
After they make a "BTILC" pin, they could do this one next, another hoot of a classic movie and "Blowing the sh*t out of high prices!':
Quoted from TouchingEvil:This is my most value thing i have, its a production art piece, one of a kind
Can't be that "one of a kind," you've got three of them ...
Quoted from fosaisu:Can't be that "one of a kind," you've got three of them ...
Hahahaha! Dont know what happend when i posted
Quoted from gjm7777:All I know is the layout should have a captive Trans-Am car to bash.
Jack Burton: Son of a bitch most pay
Great news as probably the only way a Big Trouble pin gets made is through some sort of big reboot. The glaring part of the article is "there's no replacing Kurt Russel's Jack Burton" which is wrong, there's no replacing Denis Dunn as Wang Chi!
Crammed full of Jack Burton wisdom the call outs on Big Trouble In Little China would be out of this world. Would 100% be buying that!
Other themes I'd re mortgage my house to buy would be....
Goonies
Evil Dead
The Thing
The Lost Boys
Dick Tracy
The Punisher

We have similar tastes. I'm working on a homebrew game right now, and the next theme I wanted to tackle was either Goonies or Big Trouble. I have a couple of mechs worked out for Goonies that would be pretty unique if I can pull it off. The guy who was doing Last Starfighter was also looking at Big Trouble for his next game.
Quoted from TouchingEvil:Got something new to my Big trouble in little china collection.
Now its time to make a Pinball Jersey Jack or Stern PLEASE!
[quoted image]
Where did you get that? Was just looking on a site called BoardPusher but didn't find it there.
Quoted from TouchingEvil:PLEASE MAKE A PINBALL NOW!
[quoted image]
...I’ll be damned... AMAZING! Simply incredible TouchingEvil, very nice collection man! Now, we need the Pinball(Just with the Original John Carpenter’s off course)...and a David Lo Pan from SideShow Collectibles too
Regards
Sitting here, drinking some wine and thinking of movies my young boys would love and this one came up.
How was this theme never made into a game?
It seems awesome and perfect!
I had an idea for it, based on a widebody PF, with the center shot being the big Buddha elevator from the movie. As you enter each mode, the Buddha would open and a screen would show a different character or mode.
Quoted from Silverballer:I sound like my parents but he should be farther away from the tv. It is a good flick .
LED/OLED TVs don't have radiation concerns like a tube TV from the olden days. That was the main concern with people (kids) proximity to tube sets.

If only JJP/STERN would get off their ass and make BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA
I was trying to design one in visual pinball but to be honest it confused the hell out of me. I wanted to design it using VP first to see if it shot well and maybe one day move it to the workshop and have a go at creating an actual white wood.
Here’s my ideas so far for Toys & Mechs and Modes
TOYS & MECHS
1. Opening Mouth escalator centre ramp which feeds behind back panel ramp.
2. Guardian Floating Head Bash toy (Like GB slimmer)
3. Three Storms Pop Bumpers sculpted in shape of their straw hats
4. Moving sewer Bug Monster head pops out of the wall or back panel and magnet in his mouth grabs the ball and retreats back into wall or back panel dropping the ball into subway for Multiball ball lock (like thing hand on AF)
5. Sewer Beast Monster Inside opening statue, Statue opens for Multiball subway kick out
6. Pork Chop Express Truck captive ball
7. Wheel chair ramp ball cradle ball travels backwards on ramp in cradle the drops as ramp disappears down into stone well underneath playfield (again similar to the way GB subway ramp goes under playfield)
8. Lo Pan pop up bash toy/centre Ramp obstruction
9. Chinese standoff drop targets opposite each other on left and right walls (red gang facing yellow gang)
10. Six demon bag flask sculpted mode start scoop
MODES:
1. The Hell of Being Cut to Pieces
2. The Hell of Boiling Oil
3. The Hell of the Upside Down Sinners
4. The Hell Where People are Skinned Alive
5. The Hell of the Oily Dragon
6. The Hell of the Vast Cold
(All named after different Chinese Hells “Chinese have a lot of hells Jack”)
ART:
Found some amazing art on Pinterest that I was gonna use which I’ve attached, personally I think Chris Franchi would knock it out of the park!
Quoted from Djshakes:I don't think any of the current manufacturers can do this pin justice. Stern would fuck this up.
Oh no, did you buy a Stranger Things? Haha
You’re 100% right though, they would all balls it up.
You have my solemn promise if I ever win the lottery I’ll throw everything including the kitchen sink in it

I don't buy modern games. None of them have ever impressed me.
Quoted from toyotaboy:What you could do with EL-wire today for the battle arena alone. Heck, make the first escalator ball ramp that sucks the ball into a lock.
[quoted image]
Love that idea, like the way the ring sucks the ball in on LOTR.
Quoted from TouchingEvil:For me Big trouble in little china is the best movie of all time, i grow up with it and just love it.
I think it would be a great pinball theme, think the three storms and Jack burtons all one liners,
"Son of a bitch must pay" "INDEED" "Yes sir the check is in the mail"
Its a dream that most come true, make it happened stern. Jersey jack or someone please
Watch the wonderful trailer of this masterpiece:[quoted image]

You know what old jack burton says at a time like this
Having a great main character works great for pinball. Makes the immersion so much better for the game having that person doing lead call outs. Dirty Harry is a perfect example. This is why I feel Big Trouble in Little China and Evil Dead would be great pinball themes.
