For me Big trouble in little china is the best movie of all time, i grow up with it and just love it.

I think it would be a great pinball theme, think the three storms and Jack burtons all one liners,

"Son of a bitch must pay" "INDEED" "Yes sir the check is in the mail"

Its a dream that must come true, make it happened stern. Jersey jack, spookey pinball or someone please

Watch the wonderful trailer of this masterpiece:

I totally agree Touchingevil. This or Army of Darkness would be fantastic. But this cult classic would be spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    "it's all in the reflexes....."

    #3 7 years ago

    It's fun to dream...

Army of Darkness and Big Trouble in Little China would be great.

I don't see Stern doing either, but maybe Dutch Pinball... They're making The Great Lebowski.

    #4 7 years ago

    No horse shit, Jack

    #5 7 years ago

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."

    #6 7 years ago

It would be awesome, however, I'd rather its name didn't get thrown around too much or Hollywood will remember it exists and decide to remake it!

    #7 7 years ago

    That Translite image looks great!

    #10 7 years ago

Aww Crap! The original movie is perfect. Leave it alone.
Maybe a pin based on the original could come out with the remake, ala Ghostbusters.

    #11 7 years ago

Great idea, this would be an awesome pin. Awesome looking translite!
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

    Take my money!
This is where MK arcade game idea came from

    #13 7 years ago

This movie already inspired Raiden from mortal kombat...Sounds like a great pin theme too.

Why the down votes for the op?

Is it from riding the coat tail of the other Stern spec. thread that just popped up?

    #14 7 years ago

Those that down voted this thread eat rotten ass.

    #16 7 years ago

Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorites. It can be remade all day but it won't tarnish the memory of the original. Seems like a perfect fit for pinball, but it may be too 'cult-ish' for Stern. But if Big Lebowski can be made...

Nor mine, in reality, despite me purposely over-reacting. It's the same with Robocop, Total Recall and Point Break. What does bother me is people thinking of the remake when the original is referenced for anything. It's like having a legacy ruined.

Yeah! And The next stern pinball

    #19 7 years ago

    ARMY OF DARKNESS!!!!! Yesssssss

    #20 7 years ago

This and Evil Dead would be my top two dream themes. I know tons of other pinheads feel the same way. Stern, make it happen and watch the cash roll in. "The check is in the mail".

STERN! My check is in the mail to

    #22 7 years ago

This would be a dream theme. Even a halfway decent attempt at Army of Darkness, a new Doctor Who, or Big Trouble in Little China would steal my shiny pennies and be my first NiB.

    "it's all in the reflexes"

My favorite podcasting network just had a show about it: https://www.theincomparable.com/ump/49/index.php

I must have missed something. This movie was absolutely "my era" but I remember very little about it.

    Army of Darkness ...

Shut up and take my money!

Dream theme there for me. And I bet Bruce Campbell would be very open to doing call outs.

    #25 7 years ago

hands down Kurt Russell's best movie and one of my childhood favorite movie. True classic in every sense.

BTiLC - buy it in a second - love that movie!!! Would be a great theme and would really be a winner with hand drawn artwork... Lo Pan bash toy on the LE!

I'd also like to see a Hellboy pin.

Wouldn't be a great theme for pinball, but talking about Big Trouble reminded me of one of my all time favorite movies: Raising Arizona!

    #31 7 years ago

    Cue PorkchopExpress in 3..2..1.......

    #32 7 years ago

Big Trouble or Evil Dead/AoD would both be instant buys for me. The callouts alone would be worth it! Been watching Ash vs Evil dead and it doesn't seem like Bruce has lost any of his humor since the originals.

I wonder if Kurt would be too busy (or 'spensive) for callouts with everything he's doing now though (GotG 2! Hell yeah!). Even if so, there are a lot of other great voice work options from Big Trouble.

On one hand, i love threads like these because I get so excited at all the great possibilities for themes that i would really love. Then i get sad because i realize they'll never happen on a commercial scale. Then i cheer up a bit again because i remember that that this reality is the probably the only thing standing between me and some combination of crippling debt and/or divorce

    Quoted from Silver:

What does bother me is people thinking of the remake when the original is referenced for anything. It's like having a legacy ruined.

Do people actually think this way? I guess i should count myself lucky for having never met anyone that did.

    #33 7 years ago

Ghostbusters was my grail pin. BTiLC is second on that list. Would sell a kidney in a heart beat to buy it. Such a fantastic movie. Fun fact: The Ghostbuters firehouse interior and Egg Shens place are the same building. Also even if you aren't a fan of the movie / have no idea what it is I think the title could work for a broad audience because the movie does a perfect blend between dream and reality. Maybe tone down the whole human trafficking thing a tad though...

    #34 7 years ago

I would be down for this title. Awesome artwork and spectacular call outs would make it as sweet as a girl with green eyes.

    #35 7 years ago

Love that movie! Iconic for us nerds!

    #36 7 years ago

    Great movie!

It resides in a special category that my wife cannot stand along with:
    Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters
    The 5th Element

And 80's trash, "Night of the Comet". Horrible movie with one great line:
"You were born with an a##hole, Doris, you don't need Chuck."

Maybe I'll watch tonight... on VHS of course

    faz

    #37 7 years ago

What the hell does that mean? huh? China is here, I don't even know what the hell that means!

    #38 7 years ago

When I read the title I thought this thread was about Stern moving production to China......

    #39 7 years ago

Loved the movie back in the day.

Just rewatched it a few months ago with my kids.

    Still funny and entertaining!!

    Great Idea

I'll totally take BTiLC, but a 5th Element would be a great, too! Ruby Rod doing the callouts? Instant classic.

Yes! Yes! Yes! That would make an incredible pin! The callouts alone would be amazing. This would be a perfect game for Dutch Pinball. You hear this Dutch Pinball? Second pin.... Big Trouble baby!

My friend Melanie has her sights on a Cherry 2000 pin.

Younger people, I guess, who are too young to remember the original. Having said that, if seeing a remake encourages someone to hunt out the original then that's a good thing.

As the pinball companies tick off the big names that people have wanted over the years, those other titles may start to enter the realm of possibility....

Back to the Future, Harry Potter, Scooby Doo, The Muppets, Gremlins, Jaws, The Warriors, The Goonies, The Lost Boys, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Army of Darkness, the Blues Brothers, Kill Bill and Big Trouble in Little China?

    #47 7 years ago

I liked the movie but would imagine evil dead army of darkness would be on the to do list over this movie for Stern if for no other reason then the current show getting primed for season 2
