So this is coming.

http://dudepinball.com/

The person/company behind this campaign is very clever. They know how pinside is... how the internet community is. So they are launching this as a viral campaign.

Clue 1 was on Wednesday when we saw the ad in the EXPO program saying information is coming Saturday.

Clue 2 was today when big breasted babes in bowling mini dresses were handing out flyers advertising the dude pinball website with the same image shown on Wednesday, but this time with a rug, bowling pins, and a measuring cup. All easy clues from the Big Lebowski movie.

What is not known at this time is who is behind it. Frankly speaking, the polish of both the new site, the flyers, the photo quality and the promo girls in custom made outfits seems to eliminate the boutique builders. This points to something bigger...

And with 70 days left until (The Reveal?) the timing of an announcement seems to fall in place with with the marketing director of Stern told me would be "The next machine coming out in January".

So, will 3pm STERN session today be more info on Lebowski? Will this remain a mystery? Did the creators of this campaign intend it to be mysterious for months to come? Did the builders of this pin secretly pull me aside at EXPO and ask me to make this thread to stir the pot?????

All this and more shall soon be revealed!

If this turns out to be the next game instead of Godzilla, I'm only complely thrilled that I got in on MM.

Good job whomever is planning this pin, went so far as to make the domain name a private registration...

#6 10 years ago

That is a "Caucasian" not a measuring cup!

#8 10 years ago

Gary told me @ CAX last year no way he would make this pin I was hoping it would be a JJP widebody but Jack didn't seem to want to make it either.
I signed up for a Sobchek LE.

#9 10 years ago

I told you guys it would really tie Expo together

Quoted from Jared:

Is that when they have their next vacation planned?

#11 10 years ago

The pinball news coming out of Expo this weekend is just insane. Lebowski has always been my dream theme - I'm 100% in on this one! Can't wait to find out more.

#12 10 years ago

The Sobcheck model doesn't work on shomer shabbos

#14 10 years ago

I'm very excited if this news is true.
I just hope its not a boutique pin company.

#15 10 years ago

Somebody better get The Dude some smelling salts.

What the hell? What kind of hobby is this that we don't get pics of the REAL good stuff?

This campaign doesn't seem like something Stern would do, aren't they known for their poor PR skills? Wheras, this has been handled quite professionally so far.

Not family friendly, so not JPP.

Not Python, he doesn't want to do licensed themes.

Who else can we rule out?

SkitB, Heighway, Multimorphic?

This mystery as it is.... is entirely the creators point.

I agree, the fit, finish, polish and taste of this campaign defies all known pinball makers currently, and seems bigger in budget and scope than any of the boutiques have.

This is not SkitB, Heighway, Spooky or Multimorphic...

And honestly, its not Stern, JJP or Chicago Gaming/PPS either...

Its.... something else...

I dont know.

#38 10 years ago

This is not a Stern pin. No way no how. They don't even have ST rolled out yet, they won't be talking about their next pin till spring time.

The marketing is an A1 effort for pinball, but at the end of the day it isn't marketing, it is a fun well designed game, and we at least need to know who is designing it.

Correct...Stern would not say Shit in the ad campaign online...

What if it's a clever hoax to F with my emotions Smokie?

Curious if they make this Lewbowski pin I wonder if the code will incorporate "league rules" I hear they are pretty strict!

I tried registering but when I do all I see are empty white boxes with no labels (can't see what I'm supposed to be filling in.) If it's reasonably priced and not 3 years from being produced I'm in!

#49 10 years ago

According to the original thread I am in for serial number 90.
