Quoted from mkael:

Does the motor force on the axis to change direction?

Yes

If you can find another non-directional motor with the same rpm you can take a auger screw coupling and cut off the shaft for the light and bolt them together, Using a long bolt in the coupler as your stop, Worked on mine

Quoted from ChrisHibler:

kdunbar If you still have the game, can you post what motor you ended up using along with some pics of the implementation?

Sold the game two years ago at TPF, I believe it went to Colorado

Quoted from mkael:

Hello,
I try to find how the "light search" works : there is a small rod on the motor axis which "forces" the lamp to stay between 2 studs, what I don't understand is how (if it does) changes direction , indeed on my big house the motor turns counterclockwise until the rod stopted against the right stud. I expect to see the lamp go back and forth.
Thank you

Post a picture of the numbers on the motor, I will see if I can figure out which one I used

I think this is the motor I used, had to do a little surgery and break off the tab for the clockwise rotation on the first gear, Has metal gears, Used automotive panel bond to put housing back together

Quoted from mkael:

I beat your record, it has been working for several hours but I 'm not confident for many years...
For the engine, the shipping costs are more expensive than the cost of the engine.
What to you think of this one in 24v ? :
ebay.com link » Ccw Cw Direction 50 60hz Frequency 5 6rpm Electric Synchronous Motor Ac 24v 4w

For that price, I would get it just to see if I could make it work
