Mine was doing the same thing. I was told to look and see if the diode had come off.

It had and I re-soldered it and then it played normal for a while. But its back to its old tricks.

Check yer diode, or replace it? I have some ordered. If that doesn't work I am gonna get a new switch.

When My cannon shoots the ball out, it also creates a weird 2 ball multi-ball.

I don't think its a pcb issue. When I did the diode and messed with the switch and its lever, it worked swell.

Do you need the canon wiring?

mine looks about the same way.. who taught these guys how to solder??
