I have just installed an aftermarket Bally/Stern rectifier board in may big Game AS-2518
the DC voltages are about half of what they should be, and I cannot work out why?
The AC voltages are OK

F1-5.4 VDC I'm getting 2.76
F2-190 VDC I'm getting 104.6
F3-11.9 VDC I'm getting 5.7
F4- 43 VDC I'm getting 21.9
F5- 7.3 VAC I'm at 7.05
F6- 240 VAC I'm at 235

seems ok out of the Transformer
Lugs
2-6 not sure what it should be but i have 50v
17-18 -7.3v I've got 7.1
13-14 -7.8v I've got 8.1
15-16 -12v I've got 12.8
8-1 -173 I've got 178.8

hopefully it is something simple?

Was this game working and then failed?
Check transformer jumpers on the manual page? Key is on lower left of schematic for the power supply.

It is a project game, has not worked since being in my possesion.
the transformer jumpers look good to me.

Sorry, my bad...that should have been output line E8 which is actually transformer lug 18. Negative probe there, positive on test point 5

i get nothing 0.01

i get theses readings
B1 - 2.9
B2 - 7.8
B3 - 21.8

From what I could see in the photo wiring to the rectifier board looks correct.
It bothers me about your measurement in post 8. With the game off, ohm/continuity check from your black wire at E8 on the back of the rectifier board to transformer output 18. Follow the lead back and see where that is connected.
Is there any output cables connected to the rectifier board? Curious what change you might get measuring both with and without the connectors on the output.

Yes continuity is good for all wires form the transformer. I have checked that they are all connected to the rectifier board as per the manual, 18 to E8, 17 to E7 etc

with only J2 connected the readings are the same as the first post except for F3 is 8.5v (was 5.7)

Quoted from Rikoshay:

i'm trying for a process of elimination
you mention connecting J2 only, as J2 has the mains voltage, can you remove the other pins, 1,2,5&10?
isolating the machine from the rec board.
or if you happen to have a variac make a plug with wires going to pins 6 & 7 on J2
so you only have the active and neutral going to pins 6 & 7 and see if there is any difference?
if i'm doing a rec board i use a variac to check the board prior to putting it back in the machine so i know it's ok, if something doesn't check out afterwards, i know it's not the rec board.
you confirmed the transformer outputs were okay, give or take a little:
E3 - E4 = 49VAC
E7 - E8 = 7.3VAC
E9 - E10 = 7.8VAC
E11 - E12 = 12VAC
E5 - E6 = 173VAC
what is your AC line voltage?

AC line voltage is 230
no difference with just pins 6 & 7 on J2

E3 - E4 = 49VAC 50
E7 - E8 = 7.3VAC 7
E9 - E10 = 7.8VAC 8
E11 - E12 = 12VAC 12.6
E5 - E6 = 173VAC 177

i put the original rectifier board back in and the results are the same, still the DC voltage is about half what it should be.

put this down to my dumbness, for checking the voltages at the fuses - voltages at the test points are pretty close to normal ( i would of thought they should test the same at the fuse?)
unplugged the soundboard and the game starts up
