Made it into the club. I actually bought this awhile ago - but it was a mouse house for awhile and I finally have it cleaned up... No nests when I got it, but lots of remnant damage including trashed displays, a chewed up harness, and no joke an acorn fell out from behind the MPU when I pulled the board. I haven't got a pic of it yet, but here's the PF on my rotisserie for posterity. It's flipping pretty well considering the damage it sustained (mice, paper wasps, blown varistor so I'm guessing voltage spike of some kind). I'm always happy to save another from being a strip job, even if I need to go get a new piece of glass cause it came with a piece of hockey plexiglass shittily shaved down to fit.

I already found the link for new bingo card boards - anyone have a solution for ball guides/little flipper metal parts, or is it pretty much fashion your own as above? I have a cracked left flipper metal and right ball guide metal - but I can likely weld them rather than fashion new ones if new ones aren't available anywhere.

That's great to know - I checked PBR to do a customary flipper rebuild (I usually do on all machines I bring in) and saw they were mostly out of stock save like one or two parts of the whole mech. Luckily, these are playing pretty well - but I definitely see some slop in the linkage and coil stops I'd like to improve.

As far as immediate need issues - I actually meant the metal below the upper left flipper to allow lower flipper trapping/prevent scissoring. Also, the right guide that puts the ball along the star rollovers above the right target bank. Both are snapped right as the bracket angle, so I'm thinking it may be a relatively easy weld rather than fashioning a whole new piece.

exactly - the small angle bracket like right at the 90~ degree bend. I think having a buddy weld them back together sounds easier than sourcing rivets at this point.

Mine's still sitting on the floor from installing the new displays - will measure tonight.

it has a seawitch tagged wiring harness, so it may not be the best of examples for the 'earlier Big Game' - but we'll see.

My Big Game is 1/8"

For posterity on Stern pins...

Trident - 1/8"
Flight 2k - 1/8"

Quoted from chuckwurt:

The game must be mad at you for using the wrong flippers. Haha. Jk.

I was thinking the exact same thing, hahaha.

Any chance the reserve light is burned out and this was the second time through? (doubtful, but spitballing here...)
Those look like LEDs, There may be some bleed over into a light that isn't actually lit, but has enough power to trigger the LED... not sure how you have them installed (factory PF light boards or upgraded , factory lamp board or upgraded/connector solution/resistored)... If it's original PF boards - Honestly my guess would be there could be one wire connected to the two lights. I've found similar hacks in some of my machines (ie - G O light together in Paragon cause the transistor burned out, so the previous owner just wired them together. Stupid, inaccurate, and caused me three times the fix time, but it happens.

These light boards really make a ton of difference. If you have a big game, I can't recommend them enough

Exactly - Just cut one, solder one, cut one, solder one... you can't screw it up if it's one at a time.

if you have the playfield elevated - I highly recommend a set of foreceps, or some type of board witha box on it laying underneath to help steady the wires to the boards.

$1,200 for a non working BG with bonus worn playfield and flaked backglass? Have they appreciated that much in recent years?!?

#1366 3 years ago

Sorry, wasn't trying to sound crappy about it, just kinda surprised. I snagged mine a little over 2 years ago in the same shape (little more pf wear) for 500... Just surprised they've gone up that much. I know the newer/rarer classic Sterns have (Catacomb, Cheetah, etc), just didnt realize.

If anyone is reading this at the big remakers, Big Game is one I would throw down on a replacement playfield in a second on.
