what's the value of Big Game these days.

#1108 3 years ago

slowly getting my Big Game together. got the new insert boards and a DIY display kit from pinitech. waiting on comet order.

could someone get me the dimensions for the playfield glass? don't have one for my cab and need to get one cut locally. thanks.

#1120 3 years ago

anyone got a solution to flickering sockets. reflowed the pins and re pinned the connector and I still have a handful of lights that wont stay solid. I'm using the led adapter boards, possible I got bad diodes or something on those. other than that I got td his thing up and going finally and looks great.

#1128 3 years ago

guess I'll do some tinkering and see if I can figure this out. dont want to add resistors bc it shouldn't need them.

#1134 3 years ago

definitely the board after checking everything. I'm using stock with adapters not alltek.

ordered a scr kit so all should be good

#1135 3 years ago

any idea what the metal brackets were for on the flyer? never noticed until recently

Quoted from woody76:

coil tested good. are the replay levels and EB set on the board dip switches or through the coin door?

might want to get nvram or battery pack bc I didnt have those in. so even if u setup replay levels it wont save it. i know if u have no batteries in the settings become super weird with replay lvs. the knocker works It was disconnected bc I was working on the game late a night and didnt want it waking the neighborhood up lol

man those look better than the wire guide, wonder why they aren't common. looks like it will fix the ball hop.

#1244 3 years ago

you could cut off that tab and use a spade bolt where the wire guide hole is. just gotta drill the hole bigger. would look cleaner but that's a lot for some inlanes

#1275 3 years ago

I'm not a fan of the acrylic overlays. gets dirt trapped between it and playfield and eventually it starts to just look horrible. we had one on a hobbit le and after a year or so on location it looked super hazy, had like coil dust trapped everywhere. the ball also is more floaty feeling on it as it tends to slide then roll but in the long run it does save the art etc so it's a toss up imo

Quoted from woody76:

had my best game tonight. what a amazing pinball machine this is. I might have the chance at a catacomb soon. how does it compare to BG?

Catacomb is good, u should go to GG and play it first though, it's a weird one just walking up to it. I like that I'm not one of the only ones here in nash on the 80s stern bandwagon. I'm still workin on convincing Jason to let me pf swap that quicksilver....one day

#1358 3 years ago

there is a BG for sale on FB

dude, where did you find this? was that the one on the project you rounded up?

yea man, pretty crazy

lol

#1529 2 years ago

i will need to burn that code for the arcade here. I was talking to neo about possibly restoring my playfield, but man its kinda expensive. would be real coooool if new playfields were confirmed and not just a mystery right now.

#1531 2 years ago

looks nice!

#1643 1 year ago

sounds like there is a break in the white/red wire somewhere between the connector and the switch for the spinners. check continuity bc I assume everything else works except the spinners, and that wire only controls those from what it looks like

#1644 1 year ago

put my big game on location this week. I need to get the new code eventually, have a weebly in already. everyone here seems to like it so far, tournaments will be fun.

are there any updates on anyone reproducing anything for this game yet? I have a mint backglass but cpr wouldn't send me a box to ship it to em in and I'm not gambling on packing it myself in Hope's it would arrive ok.

My lower right flipper coil took a dump today. blows the main fuse when power is applied. all my flipper assemblies have the coil stop bolt holes drilled out. a OP had just ran a bolt with a lock nut. so guess its finally time to bite the bullet and order all new mechs and just replace everything. having to remove the whole assembly just to change a coil, sleeve,or coil stop is just ridiculous.

5 months later
#1738 1 year ago

Had to pull my big game from bar bc the lower left flipper sheered the bolts on coil stop then broke the EOS causing the coil to burn out. FUN STUFF! going to just order all new assemblies bc some OP previously drilled out the coil stops and added bolt/nuts instead of the standard machine screws for all the flippers.

so I bought new brackets finally and rebuilt all 4 flippers. feels good again.

decided to use my kinda NOS plastic rings I've been saving for a while to rebuild my pops. excited to see the difference. hopefully it's more active in now

#1770 1 year ago

well I'm dumb, they fit but have half travel bc its not the plastic coil assembly lol. rip

#1775 1 year ago
Quoted from slochar:

You can put them in there there's a mix of parts you have to use I forget what i used as I did this upgrade about fifteen years ago.

if you happen to remember, please lmk lol. maybe a shorter plunger will work or swapping the coil bracket with a William's/bally bc it may give slightly more room idk. definitely dont feel like buying all new assemblies tho.

Quoted from cottonm4:

Rip? If you don’t want them I will buy them from you

lol nah I will figure this out. was saving these for Dragonfist playfields.

So I want to remove the guides behind flippers and the posts in order to make it where you can get scissored, But only if it's possible to make the flippers stage. is this possible? what would be the best way to go about that? thanks.

#1798 1 year ago

I want to make it where u can only trap up if you are staging, if not you lose the ball through the flippers(scissored). I'm trying to make this game harder bc games tend to last longer than I'd like in a tournament setting here.

#1807 1 year ago
Quoted from TheLaw:

Flipping the bottom or top flipper only

Gonna be close if the lower flipper is up...might be what in fact makes it scissor instead of the other way around.
[quoted image]

was thinking the upper would need to be adjusted lower to compensate for getting screwed lol.

Quoted from slochar:

Adding the ability to stage is just going to enable players that can do it to play even longer. I'd just make it scissor and forget it.
You can pull posts and adjust the ball guides to funnel the balls out to reduce ball time.

yea makes sense, but would still be cool to see it in action with staging.

seen that there is a big game at TPF listed for $4250. crazy how this game has shot up in price apparently. I remember getting blasted 2 years ago for selling one for $2500.

I hope it sells as well lol. does look pretty clean from the picture, but pictures can be deceiving.

I have had good success with using 90% alcohol to get the green goo cleaned off connectors so I dont have to replace the housing.

#1999 10 months ago
Quoted from Quench:

slochar, from factory are the primary flippers on Big Game wired to the upper flippers with the secondary being the lower flippers per sullivcd40's pictures?

I've owned 3 and they all had upper as main/primary and lower as secondary

#2075 9 months ago

looks nice!

#2091 9 months ago

my kickout works like 80% of the time, the other 20% it half kicks up like 3 or 4x before just hopping the plastic. kinda sucks when ur one letter away from spelling BIG to light spinner

#2093 9 months ago

yea I need to take it apart and see why it's doing that. I also need to get around to burning the new code. really want that spinner counter.

#2100 9 months ago

you should polish the trough, seems odd to do all that work and leave that dull looking.
