Lead on new legs?
Quoted from Dantesmark:Lead on new legs?
Those Bally replacement are close enough, same height just a little different shape and color

Quoted from woody76:Thinking about just keeping my BG now, so looking for decent used backglass.
I just sent you a PM.
I have a large box of Big Game parts. All the playfield ball guides and wire guides, partial plastic set with new and used plastics, I have the proto outlane guides, a 3 bank drop target assembly with targets and coil, 1 very nice BG spinner, and lots of other parts Stern specific like flipper assemblies and more.
a complete very nice stern coinbox also and a 100% working original lamp board off a catacomb.
I do not want to part all this out in pieces but if someone could use this and wants it all please shoot me a PM.
Quoted from cottonm4:I just got some decals in from TractorDoc. His spinner decals for Big Game just look super. The color match is almost dead on.
I know some of you need to work your Big Game spinners over. Now you can.

How do you buy?
CPR classic playfeilds is advertising 2022 is here and they have a mysterious several new playfields to be revealed and all i could think about is wouldn't it be great if one of those playfields was Big Game
no it is not Big Game but i did get on CPR's reminders list if or when they ever do offer the Big Game table , evidently this idea of doing Big Game does come up at CPR and after all they used to offer up lists for how many people would be interested in certain tables in their past web sites
Could somebody help me out with a picture of a solenoid driver board connector?
Replacing mine and 3 of the wires are soldered straight to the board. I need to repin them obviously and the schematics are not the clearest.
Colors are teal/brown, red/white, and brown. Cheers in advance!
Quoted from GorillaBiscuits:Could somebody help me out with a picture of a solenoid driver board connector?
Whatever dude ,looks fine to me!
Could someone please post a picture of their Self-test button and S-33 button wiring?
My game is booting and running fine, but I can't seem to enter self-test mode. Wondering if my wiring is messed up.

you might have a bad switch. Trying jumping the two connectors and see if that does something.
Quoted from cottonm4:you might have a bad switch. Trying jumping the two connectors and see if that does something.
Also, look at the blueprint in post #6130. Upper left corner of print shows the test switch and the memory clear switch.
Then down in post #6133, you will find a large pic of both switches. And you can see the Red, White, and Yellow-Red wire that matches what is in the upper left hand corner of the print.
Almost finished doing a deep clean. Question what is the best replacement socket for pop bumpers once I take apart to rebuild?

Get these #555 sockets from Pinball Life. They screw to the bottom of the pop bumper body, accept 555 bulbs. Your hosed up pop light action will disappear. Don't forget to buy some 555 LED bulbs.

You have a real nice looking play field. Most BG play fields are blown out quite a bit.
You can buy a protector for it if you ever desire. I made a protector for mine and it played fantastic but I eventually had the play field restored and cleared.
Quoted from Kawasakiltd:and put new drops
You can take a black magic marker and re-darken the black numbers in the drop target faces. Then cover with a square of mylar and they will stay looking new for real long time.
Steve at PBR sells drop targets for numbers #1, #2, #3, #4 and #5 as some other classic Sterns use the 1 thru 5 numbers. But 6, 7,8 and 9 are not available to buy anywhere, since they are Big Game only.
Tractor Doc was making vinyl decals that would let you take a blank target and then add the 1-9 numbers. I don't know if he still has any left to sell or not.
Also, Tractor Doc has a nice set of decals for the tiger head spinners.
Big Game was a great friend to me this weekend at INDISC, too bad i used my finals pick early on and couldn't get it on the camera as much as it deserved
Any progress being made on a reproduction playfield or Hardtop for Big Game? I know it was being discussed from John Greatwich before he filed for bankruptcy. I hope a playfield or Hardtop gets made for this one.
Quoted from TheLaw:For drops i paint in the missing areas and give some coats of acrylic clear
I did the same thing except I just covered the drops with Mylar so the numbers don’t wear. Been probably 10k games since then and they still look new.
Quoted from hisokajp:Big Game was a great friend to me this weekend at INDISC, too bad i used my finals pick early on and couldn't get it on the camera as much as it deserved
It will always be a staple at Pincinnati! Every tournament deserves a Big Game.
The art was being worked on by numerous parties (Big Game). Same with art that was close for Firepower 2. Not a art guy or color specialist. It has been about 7 months since work on playfields ended for direct ink restoration, & new playfields by me. A nice break after all these years of work.
Quoted from Kawasakiltd:All cleaned up just need to put new drops in and rebuild pops also buy new pop caps. This thing is fun to play.

Big Game is a blast to play.
That is one nice play field. Here is link to the BG play field protector if you ever might be interested.

appreciate all the hard work John! I am not in a rush but will definitely take a new PF when it will get released

Updated listing and added many more pics. Some inserts are sinking, there is some insert wear. There is a gouge in the paint through the left bingo card and into the giraffe area. PF is missing one 3 bank DTA, I will provide a used stern 3 bank with 2 blue targets. 3 bank may need a new coil.

That play field is in very nice condition. Mine had the same type of swirl marks in the bingo card and the restore guy I take my play fields to really cleaned it up. This play field will clean up nice. He could make this play field really stand out.

No need to be overly detailed cotton but who is your restore guy?
What did he do and what did he charge?
Asking cause I have been sitting on a spare playfield.
Curious enough to inquire what it might take to bring
it back to life.
Thank you for your time.
We both had Keith Holbrook of Total Pinball Restorations restore our Big Game playfields. His price was very reasonable (every job is going to have its own price, so I don't think it's appropriate to say what he charged me) and his work is great. He's got such a big backlog, I don't think he's accepting new clients but reach out: http://totalpinballrestorations.com/
Great guy, looking forward to his full restoration of my brother's Warlok.
Here's a couple before/after of my playfield. It was in pretty darn good shape for a Big Game, but the center rollover was blown out. The lion underneath the left flippers also had some chemical stain that ran through it. I went for Keith's cheapest option since my inserts were still very firmly seated. Some slight dieback noticeable in the inserts but a camera tends to accentuate that to a larger degree.

Still need to do a few more things before I power her up. I seem to have a mental block on just doing it as I took that third pic almost a month ago.
Quoted from play_pinball:I went for Keith's cheapest option since my inserts were still very firmly seated.
This was my big mistake. In trying to keep the costs down, I told Keith that the inserts were OK and did not need be removed. Big Mistake ! I have several inserts "crawling" under the clear coat. This has cause some of the keylines to look a little funky; Not bad but could be better. But I also have 3 or 4 inserts where half the insert has turned "foggy" looking.
Note to self: In future, all inserts must be removed, epoxied, and reset.
When I took Keith my Cheetah play field, I already had pulled many of the inserts to drive a point.
He has been sitting on this play field for close to 2 years. Partly because I told him I was not in a hurry. And mostly because he was so backed up. I leaned on Keith the other day and will be looking for my Cheetah sometime between May-July. Right now, I imagine he is buried getting pins ready for TPF.
I really like your white pop bumper skirts. They make the pops pop.
Keith is crazy affordable. He has done complete game restorations for me playfield, cab, everything for less than $2000. He did a playfield for $600.

I am sure he is more than a year out and his pricing has probably gone up in the last 2 years.

swinks graciously custom designed custom plastic printed rings for the Gen 1 pop mechs for me. I owe it to Jady to get this thing flipping so I can test them in action! https://www.shapeways.com/product/HBNDZBXES/classic-stern-gen-1-pop-ring-set-conversion?optionId=227816796&li=shops
I despise the metal base gen 1 pop assemblies with the little feet spacers. I modified the plastic base ones to fit the smaller hole. The custom rings were also needed because the ring size on the metal base assemblies is smaller than your standard ring these days, which won't fit through the playfield holes.

Agree with cottonm4, white skirts look sweet.
Thanks for sharing the pics.

Yeah, and if you are like me, you missed the white pop bumper rings. I just saw the skirts in my eye. It is the white pop rings the set it off. I'm going to play copy cat. These white rings are on my shop list.
Here is a link showing all the pop ring options including the custom Stern Pop Bumper Housing - sorry about the pricing - that generated by Shapeways due to the object size. But is saves the grinding the pop Stern pop bracket but just had an idea of how to overcome this will report back shortly.

the pop bumpers with the all white color also makes the white drops look better too. like they look cleaner , i am enjoying the yellow posts as well , and a the fresh glossy table. thanks for that picture of your work
Quoted from Kawasakiltd:Sister in law cut me 6 7 8 9 out of vinyl
She did a nice job.

Yes, a very nice job indeed.
Now then, might you and your sister-in-law
be offering these anytime soon?
Mine are vinyl numbers cut by TractorDoc. Not sure if he’s still selling them but they’re great quality.

I will see if she will cut some more if so I will let you all know.
