Hopefully someone can give me some guidance here as I don't have a lot of experience with em games. The problem I'm facing is that when starting say a 4 player game the scoring will start with a phantom player, then go to player 1, player 2, player 3, and then remain at player 3 forever with unlimited balls. I believe I've tracked the problem down to the player unit. I can manually push the stepper around by holding the wheel that moves and get it to align properly with each player.

The bigger problem is I can't figure out what the hell I'm looking at. The logic isn't making sense to me. I can tell that it's misaligned but I don't know how to fix it. It appears the wheel portion can only go on one of two ways because of the notches so it isn't like I can adjust the wheel an 1/8th of an inch or anything. I can only only flip it 180°. It's almost as if the hard stop is just too far back. None of it appears to be adjustable though.

The other thing I don't understand is the gear where the coils latch onto and advance one at a time. It only appears to use 3 notches in the gear and then hit a dead spot where there are no more notches. It would seem that it should be starting on the complete opposite end so that there are 20+ notches? Right now the majority of the gears could never be used. Looking at it though I can't see a logical way to make that happen though. There is a hard stop, and a pin that has to hit the switches.

I've taken some pics and video in hopes that someone can easily spot what I'm supposed to be doing.

Wow thanks for all the great responses guys. I'm going to be doing some more research once I get home.

The bakelight doesn't appear to be adjustable because it has a rectangular hole in a metal plate that holds it in place. Should I just be able to apply force and move that a bit? I don't want to break it and that's what I was trying to figure out because it appear the shaft that it connects to is misaligned. How to I adjust that?

The "missing teeth" is definitely from factory. It doesn't appear worn or broken at all. More a lack of my understanding as to how it's supposed to work. There is a physical stop in the top right that prevents it from moving any farther in one direction. I will try to take some better pictures of that portion later.

I want to thank everyone for the replies. The problem has been solved! Well at least that one, not sure what else I'm going to run into with the machine.

So here it is:

I was trying to figure out why the shaft was misaligned with the board. I was trying very hard to adjust the shaft, even put a wrench on it and it got to the point where I just stopped because I knew it wasn't going to budge and something would break.

What I should have done was try to figure out why the board was misaligned with the shaft. Turns out the board adjusts quite easily. The screws were loose. Moved the board back to alignment and tighten the screws. Woohoo, works perfectly!
