I'm continuing on with my Big Brave rehab. Everything seems to working reasonably well with the exception of the match credits and numbers. Sometimes, not always it will award a match for the incorrect number, usually 40 or 50. I have seen these numbers both lit together once or twice at the end of game. Sometimes, not always it will award as many as 4 credits for a match. Could someone point me in the right direction?

This is a problem with the 00-90 Unit relay (F) in the backbox.

Do its wiper contacts stop reliably in the middle of the disk segments? Are there burns on or between the disk segments?
Here are some links about it you may find helpful.

This can happen if this Motor 1B switch is gapped too closely.

I was playing a game and noticed that at the end there wasn't a match number. I started investigating bulb sockets in the back cabinet with a multi meter. I must of shorted something out because all the lights in the back went out but the playfield was still lit. I tried to reset it but then all the the lights went out. What have I done now?

Found my problem. A blown light box fuse.

I finally got back on hopefully my last issue for a while. I have played many many games and finally matched 40 but 30 was lit. This has happened twice. I matched 20 and was given one game. I matched 70 and was awarded 4 games. My question is do the contact points on the F relay indicate the lighted match number? I would check after every game and the wiper contacts were never on the lighted match number. Most of the time it was several numbers off. It does ratchet around when I fire the hundreds relay.

Compare the actual wire colors to the schematic

Quoted from HowardR:

Compare the actual wire colors to the schematic

The colors do not seem to match the schematic. For example 5 on the F relay it looks like a slate/black wire. The schematic shows a yellow wire. The relay has two sides with the rotating contacts and the wire colors are different from one side to the other. I thought I was learning to read the schematics but I guess I have a long way to go.

Also, what does the C indicate on the relay?

One side of the relay is on the schematic at 6B, the other side is at 10E.

C is the Common wire: White at 6B and Slate+White at 10E

Thank you Howard for your reply. I'm not digging into this anymore. The relay seems to working. It rotates. I think maybe some of the wire colors are messed up, because they don't match the schematic. It will sometimes still award multiple credits for a match. I am going to look at the switch on 1b motor. Does that wheel come off easily? It looks like the switch is on the bottom.

Ive had a couple Gottlieb games where a credit was awarded to the wrong match number. The first game, Flip a Card, i wrote down ever reel/match digit combo and changed the lamp wiring. The 2nd game, Ice Review, i found that someone had assembeled the match contact disk on the reel in the wrong position. I never rechecked Flip a Cards reel, but think there is a good chance its reel was reassembeled incorrectly by a prior owner.
