As was pointed out in this threads OP (and several times throughout the thread by others), there was no transaction. Period. No one drove anywhere, no cash changed hands. This has absolutely nothing to do with not letting a buyer test a machine or putting a machine into 'cold storage'. The buyer disregarded at least two stipulations in the listing - not contacting before the end of the auction to set up a test if picking up AND paying in cash only - and then immediately red flagged himself as a hostile problem buyer. The seller decided to not go through with the sale based on that, and tried to politely end the auction instead of dealing with a problem buyer on site and wasting his time. The buyer then continues to get more hostile by trying to force a paypal payment and threatening legal action. And thats it. Nothing else happened. As many have stipulated (correctly IMHO) had the buyer not been hostile, there would have probably been a test play and everything would have gone smoothly. The seller correctly backed out of this transaction to avoid drama and hassle. THEN, the buyer jumps on Pinside and posts a scathing and slanderous post about the seller....leaving him no choice but to post a rebuttal with actual message quotes. The drama is all on the buyer for creating this and everyone that keeps prattling on about cold storage and test playing are seriously missing the point.
