I vote epoxy as well. Had to repair a hole left after extracting a broken screw on a pop bumper assembly. I used the putty type 2 part epoxy. Figured it would be clean to work with and not leave any mess on the playfield. It worked great. Drilled it after and the pop worked perfectly.

Good luck, I think there are plenty of good solutions.
