#2 10 years ago

BK2K

Seriously.

Shadow! Final battle is the complete package. Light show. Intro. What you have to accomplish and the ending when you do it amazing. By far the best for me.

Johnny Mnemonic's PowerDown.

Total awesomeness!

I didn't realize BSD had a wizard mode!

#6 10 years ago

Um, JM. No question.

'You are the master of power down.'

#7 10 years ago

After the numerous wizard modes I have seen in modern Stern games (some of which are an absolute BEAR to reach on factory settings), I still am always entertained by Touring the Mansion on TAF and Ruling the Universe on AFM

Never gets old to me.

#8 10 years ago

its an oldie but goodie......Tour the Mansion on Addams Family

SWT had a pretty good one as well....you need to fight the Emperor

#9 10 years ago

BSD doesnt have a wizard mode.
LOTR if I will ever get there, STTNG, AFM, TOMMY, JM - lots of good ones out there

#10 10 years ago

Most of these are mini wiz modes but I've had the most fun on these, in order.

FGY: tv wizard mode & sperm attack
Xmen: danger room - fun and awesome
LoTR: There and back again
WCS: World Cup final vs Germany; different and fun

#11 10 years ago

I kind of like the sh*tstorm of JP System Failure

#12 10 years ago

"Power Down" is my all time favorite wizard mode so far.

Final Frontier is always fun but a lot easier to get to.

#13 10 years ago

I would say MM Battle for the Kingdom has to be #1 for me. AFM Rule the Universe, The Shadow Final Battle and Indiana Jones Eternal Life are all top 5. Difficult to get to, and not easy to complete. WW, Wet Willies is tons of fun too ending in the awesome vacation jackpot finale.

Ment to put TAF...not BSD...corrected

BSD's wizard mode is activated by keeping a ball alive for more than thirty seconds. The reward? One more shot.

Of the pins I've owned I'd rate the top 5:

1. Encore
2. Super Hero
3. Join the Cirqus
4. Monsters of Rock
5. Eternal Life

#18 10 years ago

IJ Eternal Life

#19 10 years ago

The genie battle in Totan is just so epic

#20 10 years ago

Always liked WCS, mainly because its easy to get to and a thrill to play. Other ones:

1. JP - System Failure
2. TAF - Tour the Mansion
3. WWFRR - Royal Rumble
4. STTNG - Final Frontier
5. MB - Monsters of Rock

#21 10 years ago

LITZ - I just wish it wasn't timed. Trying to hit powerfield shots during LITZ is some insane sh1@t. Just always ends too quick.

#22 10 years ago

Join the Cirqus is amazing. Everything needed to get there, all the various stages, there's really a lot of tension. The "reward" stage, Party Multiball, alone is the equivalent of what a "wizard mode" gets you in many other (mainly early 90's) games.

Join the Cirqus is amazing.

I agree, the second stage of the four (Unmask Voltaire) is the hardest for me to complete. Probably only get pass it 50% of the time.

I am surprised I am the first to say that TSPP takes the cake.

I did mention it on the original post

You may be the only pinsider to ever reach it. LOL. Never been there, myself, but I hope I get to one day.

Tour the Mansion is the first one I ever came across on location. So I'd say that.

Are you referring to "best" as most difficult? That list seems to fulfill that.

However, if you can put aside difficulty and focus on how satisfying the result is, I think the Bride of Pinbot transformation is one of the most spectacular and theatrical events in pinball. The transformation is not even the finale, so it doesn't count as the wizard mode. But it feels like it.

Maybe you have to be a fan of the movie When Harry Met Sally, though.

#39 10 years ago

You are joking right? T3 is one of the best wizard modes ever. Many levels and a great killer all out mball fest at the end too

Doesn't have to be challenging....could just be fun to play...but most of the time the challenge is half the fun

You're not referring to "Assault the Vault", accessed with the Magic Token -- or are you ?

I've made it to "In the Zone" three times, "Alien Invasion" (SPP) twice, battle the genie in TOTAN several times, and "Destroy the Ring" (LOTR) ditto. On the last two, I've only come to within one shot of completion for TOTAN (very frustrating), and can't recall if I ever actually destroyed the Ring in LOTR. Even if I did, it was a very anticlimactic disappointment, as this is only worth a measly 4 Mil. points !

All the other Wiz modes mentioned: Nope, never got to see 'em -- so far. Guess my limited skills have just not been up to the task.

#44 10 years ago

FGY deserves a second mention. Tv wizard + sperm attack. The best!

#46 10 years ago

Scared Stiff and Stargate are 2 that I can think of that are really fun to me. TAF is nice too.
Don't know that many Wizard Modes very well though. :p

#47 10 years ago

I dunno if it's the "best ever", but Black Hole's is underrated ... managing 3 balls as they pass between the upper and lower (inverted) playfield is unique and awesome. the human brain can't quite track the trajectory of balls when they are falling across opposite gravitational planes simultaneously.

STTNG's Final Frontier is pretty awesome. Monster Bash, TOTAN, and AFM are pretty sweet as well.

#49 10 years ago

Lost in the Zone... TZ is AWESOME!
Any of the Simpsons Wizard modes. And no, I have never gotten the super-dooper wiz mode on that table.
The Shadow, The final Battle. The game gives you the most AWESOME quote in pinball if you finish it at the end of your game.
Power down mode in JM... I'm not a big fan of this game's ruleset , but the wiz mode, it is pretty sweet.
AFM, RTU. That is a worthy wiz mode for sure.
TAF, Tour the Mansion is great!
LotR, if you ever see them... There and back again, and the mythical Valinor.
I will always remember the first time I completed the cellar on Whirlwind. Your first kiss is the one that makes the biggest impression on you.

Now, back to play some more pin!

"Alien Invasion" (SPP)

Hey,

Don't mean to offend, but there are a ton more wizard modes (Scratchy's Revenge, Daredevil Mania, Mystery Spot, Secret Stash) in the game, and one above and beyond that of you can complete all those.
