Sweet. I raised a clutch at the old house and it was fun to watch the pair feed the wax worms I gave them. Battled those $@&$&@ sparrows and had to give up. You probably already know what sparrows will do to bluebird chicks.

Quoted from smokey_789:

I have had nesting bluebirds for the past 12 years. In that time I have killed too many sparrows to count. Sparrows are evil...period.

This is a birders best friend: http://www.vanerttraps.com/universal.htm

Catch a sparrow, let it sit a day, then empty dead sparrow from bird house.... easy. If the sparrow stole the house from the bluebirds, toss a smoke bomb in by the trapped sparrow and you'll have a nicely gassed dead sparrow in a minute and happy bluebirds.

These traps will trap any bird that springs it, so you do have to watch and see what trips the trap. If a bluey springs it, just open the side door of the house and off he flies.
