Hey all picking up a congo this week. What areas of the game look best with led's? Do the hole thing or just the gi? Anything special you guys recommend? How does it look with led?

Coasterguy had one with LEDs that looked awesome. I seem to recall Phoebe having a sweet one as well.

Congo looks really great with LEDs. Mine is partially done and Indypin's is fully done and it screams "play me".

I'm pretty sure that was coasterguy's machine.

On my Congo the previous owner put all green LEDs in playfield GI. It looks really dark and hard to see any detail. The gorilla in the back left corner hard to see. I will be swapping out the green GI LEDs with standard bulbs on this title.

Holy crap! That is freakin green

LOL... yea.. not a fan of colored GI. I use cold white or warm white for GIs.

I think they've worked out great. I was going to leave it fairly stock but I ended up doing quite a bit to it.
I mix match with incandescent. I haven't found any leds that work for the diamond inserts yet
and have left the slingshots standard.
Some of what I've done...
-Behind Amy- 2 flex super purple.(added 2 green incandescent lights to the sides of Amy that are in line with the Amy flasher)
-Copied Phoebe's idea, accept I put 2 flex super color changer under volcano with an orange super flex. I might add more.
-1 color changer flex super bright under volcano ramp along with a red led (retro or frosted maybe)
-Bumpers are standard green along with map inserts. Anything white bulb you see is standard. Pretty much all of the G.I. lights.
-1 Flex super bright UV under video insert so it hits the underside of the mystery eject.
-1 Color changer under Mystery insert.
-Green Leds under ZINJ inserts (frosted, I think)
-Narrow Angle(40 degree) red on the spot lamp for the sunset on the background.
-2 flex super bright uv on either side of Gorlilla on the lower playfield..the rest are red standards.
the rest of the inserts are mix matched according to what works.
-Under the cabinet led flashers(Blue tied in with Amy flasher/red w/volcano top flasher/green with lower right flasher)
It doesn't look as blinding in person as the pic. I'm not a fan of being visual uncomfortable while I'm playing so it took some tweaking to choose right. I only have one side of the underneath cabinet flashers hooked up for Amy(Blue) and Lower right flasher(Green). It was too bright. Hooked all 3 sides for the Volcano(Red) and it evens out.
These are all Cointaker leds.
Hope that helps.

Thanks. There's quite a bit more I've done to it but I'm close to the finish line.

Correction: Red leds under ZINJ Inserts. That pic is a month old.

2 weeks later

green on jungle areas. red on lava. cold white on the rest.
for the inserts i just followed the original insert colors. except the purple ones that i putted cold white... witch makes that purple look amazing (on the pic, see reflection on the righ of the bumpers)
