In 2017, which game(s) do you feel represent the best value in all pinball?

Hands down to me, RFM. It consistently prices WAY underneath its value IMO. Nothing else comes close.

If (and it's a big if right now) Alien actually ships in volume I think it wins the "bang for your buck" for 2017.

It's also still hard to argue against Stern Pro's. Nobody is cheaper and while they skimp on quality they do come through on the "fun".

Honestly I'd rather have an AS vs AFMr.

Oh....crap....I thought you meant NIB games. You're including ALL games ever made?

It's the usual suspects then...WCS94, Getaway, JM, JD, DM, T2, JP.......

#3 6 years ago

Baywatch is still dramaticlly underprice for quality of play and fun!

Now that Chad is fixing the few code bugs and sega gimme multiball, you had better grab one while you can.

#4 6 years ago

Maverick, the best game under 2K. I think The Sega games are the best value as a group

#5 6 years ago

Twister. Awesome music, great call outs, and super fun gameplay. The trick is to get the targets properly positioned so the game doesn't turn into a batting cage.

#6 6 years ago

Sega games taking the lead! Only Sega I've played was Starship Troopers which was awesome. I'll have to check out Baywatch

#7 6 years ago

MET Pro, it has everything you'll ever want in pinball. 4 months of owning it and I still play everyday.

#8 6 years ago

JM. For some reason it never goes up.

Seems to have gone up a couple hundo in the past few?

This is probably the spot to buy my $1400 JD. Let's make it happen.

#11 6 years ago

I think there's a lot of value in some DE/Sega games. A lot of people turn up their noses, but I really enjoy Jurassic Park, Batman Forever, LW3, and as Whysnow mentioned, Baywatch.

#12 6 years ago

I'm gonna go with Whitey's $10,000 Fathom.

I'd say these:
BSD - I remember one for 2600 that was decent a couple months ago that took 2 weeks to sell.
Bad Girls, Big Shots, Victory, Counterforce, Time Line- very good games. Always sell for less than 1K.
Most Data East games prior to DMD's are cheaper than system 11 machines and have some good titles to pick from. But NOT BTTF OR TMNT.
Older Bally titles that are good - Mata Hari, Harlem Globetrotters, Star Trek, and Eight Ball are all still good buys right now.
Sega - I still see SST way cheaper than it should be.
Stern - High Roller Casino and Sharky's Shootout are both good titles for the money they bring.
Capcom Break Shot is still cheap in my opinion.
Not really pinball but if you have people over a lot, Slugfest is a lot of fun for 1200 bucks or less.
Classic Williams - Alien Poker or Laser Cue. Why is Laser Cue not worth more? It's great and I see them sell for less than 1K.

I still think TS is the best buy in pinball. Tons of shots, enough code, super fast, best upper playfield in pinball. It's as good or better then any of the 8k+ games.

#15 6 years ago

Harlem Globetrotters for ESS. Drac/Shadow still doing work 3k and under. IM and Spider man appear to be down in price for moderns.

Only wish it had pop bumpers.

I'm glad it doesn't. They suck to rebuild and every other game I have has them. On a lot of games they are completely protected and add no randomness.

Electromechanicals.

Lol @ turds like maverick or baywatch being a value at $2000.

Buy some EMs if you want value.

#19 6 years ago

Mid-80's SS pins. The early 80's Ballys shot up big time, as did the late 80's system 11 pins. The mid-eighties pins are still reasonable.

This would've been my second suggestion. You could line an entire wall with EMs for the price of a single newer game, and the gameplay variety can not be beat. That said, however, some people just don't "get" EMs, which is a shame, and they're too often left out of discussion.

#21 6 years ago

None of the new games for sure. I'll just watch the re runs instead.

I just picked up a Stars for $350 and have it set for free play. It doesn't get much more bargain basement than that.

Funny you should say that.It is a great game but I'm out of room
I'm shopping one out right now and adding color LCD from German Gaming and it's going up for sale.

#24 6 years ago

EMs and older "unfashionable" solid states.

#25 6 years ago

Waterworld is a great value and fun pin bang for your buck. Seen a few for way under 2k recently.
Picked up an EM Big Hit recently, $300.

#26 6 years ago

WCS can be had for mid 2s and I think that's a steal. LW3 is 1400-1500 all day. Great DMD game for the price.

#27 6 years ago

Any of 1000s of EMs.
Take your pick.
I have preference for Ted Zale "zipper flipper" titles.

#28 6 years ago

RBION if you can find one!

Eight Ball Deluxe LE. That's right, the LE. The crappy cabinet keeps the price down, but the game is the same where it counts. That keeps it an amazing value.

EM. It is amazing how much fun an EM can be. Some of them get the equation just right, so you can almost beat it, but you just needed one or two more shots. They can be infuriating and fun at the same time.

From the 90s, Getaway, Demo Man, and a few others. Prices have gone up over the last 5 years, but they remain value games.

The Stern value games require something from the owner. For instance I think Roller Coaster Tycoon is a fantastic value, but I happen to enjoy playing it. I can't say the same of NASCAR, but it has its fans.

Someone mentioned MET Pro, and while I agree, it is one of their bests, it is hard to call games like MET or Tron a value game. You pay for the privilege of owning a great game like those.

#30 6 years ago

HUO Stern Pros that are still in production in the low to mid $4,000 range

funny part is that it is actually the cooler looking cabinet and the more limited if you are a collector.
