There is plenty of talk about the best gameplay with the worst themes, but let's flip it around.
What are the best pinball themes that have the worst gameplay??

Back to the Future for me. . . not the worst game ever but perhaps one of the best potential themes.
A thread thats the exact opposite of this would probably be a good read I think.
Best gameplay with worst theme.
Theres some real sleeper games with crappy themes.

There are tons of threads like that already.
These are some great answers so far.
I have never played the jetsons, but I have heard bad things. I guess I am not missing anything.
I was also disappointed in the newest star wars pinball. I felt so much more could have been done. It is a dream theme for me that fell flat.
I actually like Ghostbusters, but I will admit the code should be improved.

People who keep picking this haven't played the game with 1.07 code.

I'm not sure if I have or not. What differences are there?

Far too many to list here.

Stern Star Wars. I like the game but its also a bit disappointing in my opinion due to a lack of shots / toys.

Hmmm... this is probably true. I will say R2 was a cool toy to put in the machine.
I agree with most of these, but considering mario bros and tmnt are franchises that have been active for multiple generations and are still producing movies, shows and games for kids today i would have to go with one of those.
I guess that goes to Mario since he has been popular since the dk jumpman days. So he basically appeals to anyone under 50. I guess if you were born in the early 90's, tmnt were killed off by that stupid third movie and didn't come back for awhile.
Side note: when i was in high school in the late 90's one of my friends provided us with one of the greatest quotes of all time. I would like to share it with you.
"When we were in second grade, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie came out. It was amazing. It doesn't surprise me that it was the highest grossing independent movie of all time. Then a couple years later the second movie came out, it was a little corny and not as dark, but still a pretty damn good movie. Then the third movie can out and ruined the franchise forever, I mean they friggin go back in time. It's totally unrealistic."
Quoted from yancy:Dialed In
I think you have it flipped flopped. Dialed In certainly would fall in line with the best gameplay with the worst theme (in many people's opinions anyhow)

I don’t give a shit about theme, just yankin’ the chain.
It’s become a theme hobby. I remember seeing an Avengers popcorn tin back when that game was in production. Exact same art. Theme Boyz™️ could save a lot of money just buying knick-knacks.
Quoted from tilted81:Sw.ep1 also terrible.
Right. That one is worse than TMNT but Superman is unquestionably the best theme with the worst game of all time.
Oh come on with Stern Star Wars in these answers... People don't know what they are missing there. The gameplay is objectively fast and smooth and the code is unmatched for home or competitive play. I guess, unfortunately, it's almost too good of a game to be appreciated at the casual, location-only level.
I would vote for South Park. What a great franchise to theme with, but man is the game itself kind of ass.
I always thought Rescue 911 was a cool theme since I was a kid, but the gameplay is really bad

Aint that the truth
Surprised Hook hasn’t been mentioned yet. I’ve never played, but always wanted one and have been hesitant because of what people have said about it. Does the code update really help that much?

Yes, the code is AMAZING! Add a pinsound board and you have yourself a dang fine game.
I really don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a game than Stern's Indiana Jones.
It's not just a bad game (and it is), it doesn't even coax a smile out of you with its patchwork assemblage of audio and video clips...the match sequence alone in the original Williams Indy is way better than anything in the Stern version.
Hook also is terrible, but not sure I'd say that's a great theme for a pinball machine. Do what you want with the code the game has an absolutely horrible layout. Also the code sucks. But even the "fix" doesn't do much.
