I am sure there have been topics on this before but I was wondering your thoughts on best theme integration.

I am in the process of watching Lord of the Rings with my two boys (4 and 7) and I really don’t think there is any theme integrated as well as LOTR. The call outs, music, modes. The game has always been great but after revisiting the movie the pin is even more impressive.

What do you think is the best theme integration?

William's IJ. From the music to the callouts, modes, art, etc. The pin is a seamless integration of the franchise, in my opinion.

You are correct. It is LOTR!

I agree with LOTR. I also agree with Williams IJ. Both have great integration. I know the new Jurassic Park doesn’t have the film assets, but I still think the theme integration is amazing.

Hobbit has great theme integration even though it's not that good of a game.

I was pretty impressed by the JJP POTC integration.... sometimes these mechs just fit the theme integration perfectly.

Ghostbusters.

Lots of good answers so far.

I feel that LOTR and Hobbit are 2 of the best pin integrations of all time.

It’s Hobbit. LOTR is well integrated but it’s more like the Nintendo NES version of the story. hobbit is like you are THERE. IN. The BATTLE!!

Starship Troopers !

Nails it

#13 3 years ago

Lots of good nominees, but I say TBL wins by a long shot!

#14 3 years ago

Lots of good ones but STNG would get my vote.

I agree!

Are we talking about license integration or theme integration? Very different things.

I think it's the usual "my theme's better than your theme" bullshit.

Just the way the game makes you feel. I feel like every part of LOTR makes me feel like I am in movie. The call outs, modes are all done so well.

There aware certainly themes I love (Star Wars) that in my opinion were just implemented to pinball poorly.

MM of course. From a blowing up castle, to trolls that pop out, to a damsel in distress,... medieval times for sure

So you mean best implemented license?

LOTR makes me feel bored and want to walk away to find something better to play.

And never watch that long, boring movie again.

I've literally walked away from it at an arcade after chopping wood for 25 minutes with no end in site. I'll never play another game of it again, unless I'm forced to at league night or something.

This is why I don't do leagues. It's like you are forced to play games like this one. And then wait while some other dude has a 45 minute ball.

Whoever put LOTR into the league rotation needs to be taken out back and shot. I cringe when people want to play a two player game here unless I have a lot of distractions to keep me busy. But once a week I get into a good solo game (I play it three times a week at most) and there’s nothing like it. I may have to give Rick and Morty the nod on theme integration but LOTR is a close second. Tron is pretty good too.
