Looking for advice..

Already have a Mousin' Around! and now need another machine to put next to it. Really would like one with a dot matrix display

On my wishlist:
Freddy: A Nightmare on Elm Street
Fish Tales

thanks

There are lots of Dot Matrix Machines in that price range it just depends on whats important to you the game play, theme or combination of both. If its just between the two on your wishlist I am a bigger fan of Fish Tales for the game play than Freddy....

Maybe Shadow if you can find a good player

You will get sick of Fish Tales after a bit, but it is better than Freddy.

Roadshow is really a great game, with tons to do, and is fairly deep. And a DMD. Might be my 1st choice for 3k or less......

Roadshow is a good one. I have seen some pretty nice ones go for $2600. Lots of game for under $3k

Everyone forgets Gilligan's Island...

Great game, easy rules, a fun shooter, DMD, easy maintenance, Well under $3k for most in decent condition.

WHERE?

#17 6 years ago

fish tales, johnny mnemonic, no fear, no good gophers, demo man, T2 for dmd. pinbot, earthshaker, whirlwind, elvira and party monsters for non dmd

#18 6 years ago

Everywhere.

Whirlwind, Demo Man, and BSD are the best of the games mentioned thus far.

I will have a decent restored DM in Roanoke VA very soon, for a little under that very soon.

#20 6 years ago

Baywatch is the best game under 3K today. My favorite pinball, will never leave.

#21 6 years ago

If you can find a Shadow for < $3k, I'd highly recommend it. It's an awesome machine, was my first in and will be my last out.

#22 6 years ago

The FS in northeast had 2 about three months ago

#23 6 years ago

If you're interested in Gottlieb games I can't recommend Stargate enough. It's been my only pin for over a year now and I'm still really enjoying it!

Roadshow and High Speed II are a couple other good choices that come to mind. Popeye might be worth looking into too if you're willing to give it a chance.

#24 6 years ago

BWILSON's list was pretty good. I think TS would be my pick, but I own one so I might be biased. Of machines I don't currently own, I'd look for a FT or I500.

#25 6 years ago

I haven't seen a Ripley's or Whirlwind in decent shape below 3.

#26 6 years ago

I didn't realize they still sold pinballs for under $3k. You don't see many listed on here anymore.

Lots of good suggestions here. You have a lot of choice under $3k even with a DMD provision. My personal recommendation is Jurassic Park, particularly if you like the Addams Family rules (as it follows a similar ruleset). Can be easily had under $3k, and with the ChadH code you can make it a far better game than Data East originally programmed.

My second recommendation would be World Poker Tour. Probably the deepest ruleset available at the price point, but this game has crept up recently and tends to be around the $3k mark. Might be a bit of a wait for one under that threshold, depending on your local market. But it's a lot of fun, especially if you like drop targets and long shots that mandate accuracy.

Ugh, I hate Nightmare on Elm Street. Loved the movie, but hate the game. However, if that's on your wish list, get that. There is no game better than the one YOU want.
