Taking into consideration rules, shots, toys, playfield layout, mods available, lighting, cabinet art etc what is the BEST pin of all time?

No such thing. Variety is the spice of life.

How is it possible to be the best pin ever based on what mods are available for it? If it is the best, it shouldn't need any mods.

There has not been a pinball machine produced that checks every box to the highest degree.

Regarding the technical side of the things and general playability, I think the correct answer is The Walking Dead Pro being the closest.

Regarding the overall experience, I believe the answer is The Lord Of The Rings being the closest.

The one I'm playing.

I don't get into EMs or early solid states, but...

My favorite classic: White Water.
Favorite Modern: Maiden.

#21 3 years ago

Twilight Zone has toys, modes, beauty etc. Pretty much a timeless classic.

#22 3 years ago

Haven't you heard that gnr has been claimed the best ever? Several threads say its so

#23 3 years ago

It does look fun tho

#24 3 years ago

Probably the amflite 2. Love the look of the Brunswick crowns though.

I'd have had a quick answer to that 30 years ago but now I'm wiser.

A game does not need Mods, toys (1), fancy lighting (2), cabinet art, or deep rules (3) to be good

(1) a game needs (maybe) features, not toys
a moving target is fun
magna-save is fun
a plastic superhero figurine adds nothing

(2) I want lighting to help me know what to shoot for, not to confuse me with a multicolored mess

(3) rules are subjective, some people want a game to be an adventure, to beat modes, and then to battle a boss level. the game to last half an hour or more
other people just like to rack up a high score and for games to last 10 minutes

That distinction easily goes to TMNT the new one. If you try it, you’ll possibly also think it hits on every cylinder in all categories. (downvoting someone’s opinion? Such nice people on Pinside.)

We need a 500 post minimum before someone can post a thread or a FS ad.

Or at the very least a mandatory how to use the Search function test before posting to find 500 of this same question threads.

High Speed.

Seriously, imho.

The Zingy Bingy remake!

Twilight Zone gets my vote. If I could only have one machine, that would be it.

#34 3 years ago

The one that you sold for 500% more than you paid for it.

#35 3 years ago

Stern Avengers Infinity Quest LE/Premium. Really deep rule set. A lot of modes. Hard game. Love it. Next would be medieval madness. Cactus Canyon Continued is my third.

I really like that one Lego pinball machine some random guy made on YouTube , he uses rubber bands, greatest innovation I’ve seen in a while!

Every new owner starts a thread like this hoping the pin he just picked up at the local yard sale is The GOAT, unfortunately he should have bought the goat they were also selling, at least eventually he could eat the goat.

#40 3 years ago

TZ for me.

When Hulk Hogan pinned the Iron Sheik during that wrestling match.

#44 3 years ago

Stars is the correct answer.

#45 3 years ago

If you've played less than 7,000 games of pinball = AFM

Twilight Zone is probably the crowning jewel of the B/W classics and has lots of longevity, despite it's relatively simple ruleset

For modern Sterns, I don't think it gets any better than JP2. Shots and rules that will keep you thinking for days...hypnotic IMO

#46 3 years ago

The one I have to have, even though I don't even know which one it is.
