Thread starts with OP wondering where Yelobird went, and accusations fly like eagles, people are owed explanations, business is getting lost, people might be dead, conspiracy theories take whole pinball business down, then somehow Deeproot gets brought up, yet again we are all reminded that start-up companies take our money and leave us hanging, and people with deep pockets start arguing over morale value, 20/20 hindsight and accusations everywhere!! High horses and judgment abound - THIS is Pinside at its finest where everyone has to have the last word and piggy-backing knows no bounds.

I have two theories.
Theory 1: Yelobird rage quits Pinside, but keeps his account and mod shop open to continue his business. He has a customer with an AOL or Compuserve email address that likely goes to spam. The customer starts a thread which prompts someone to reach out to Yelobird, who privately resolves the situation and asks the customer to go silent.

I actually love that feature. I’m routinely late to the thread party and I’d be sad if I couldn’t jump in in some little way. Up or downvoting makes me feel like I’m in on the excitement.

Pinside has a few system loopholes like that. Another one is if you put someone on ignore, they can still get through to you if you have a prior PM thread and haven't deleted it. Will act like they're not ignored and they can continue to contact you directly.
