What is your favorite mode? The one you find the most fun. For me the dmd animations, sound, and difficulty of the mode all have to mesh perfectly. I love the Warg Battle on LOTR and Farley Claymore on The Shadow.
My favorite modes seam to be the simple ones. Ent Battle in LOTR... just really straight-forward, uncomplicated, shoot the tower over and over to break the dam in the allotted time. Great sound effects. Simple and straightforward, but really a critical mode to make progress toward Return of the King (collecting all those souls).
Also really like Bone Saw on SM... "Oooooh Yeeaaaaah". Sound effects of the body shots every time you trip a switch is awesome (especially with subwoofer and shaker moter blasting). Another really simple, uncomplicated mode that's tons of fun.
Wow, so many good ones. I really only have knowledge with Williams/Bally pins in this regard, and I like IJ's Well of Souls and Hidden Treasure modes. On TZ I like the clock modes (always a challenge to max points without draining). Martian Attack and Total Annihilation rocks on AFM (especially when combined), and on WH20, it's a blast to play the Ride the Whirlpool mode if you can juggle the balls just right and complete the mode 2 or more times in a single session without losing a ball.
As far as Sterns go, I've played a few games of LOTR and TSPP, and I don't have a good grasp of the rules on those, but I did enter some modes that I think would be a blast once I got a handle on the rules of each game, so I'm betting some modes from either of those games would be at the top of my list once I'm more familiar with them.
Id have to agree with Ninjabones. Both War of the Ents and Bonesaw have a clear, succinct strategy that when played in conjunction with a multiball are fantastic. I think thats what I love, the best modes are the ones that aren't independent, they can be stacked or feed in to some other element of the game, its all about smart rules on the programmers part, very cool.
I think that the best wizard mode that I have played is Super Hero, now that is an adrenaline rush
I agree Borg multiball is awesome. Especially when get the balls locked in the Borg ship.
The Sandstorm in Stargate is pretty cool.
TSPP has the best ruleset for handling modes. Stack them at will and beat the clock to keep them going almost indefinitely. I can't say enough about the greatness of TSPP and I haven't even got to AI yet! It's no coincidence that TZ left my house shortly after TSPP arrived.
Well the Flash, you are not!
Alien Invasion
honorable mention: Casino Run
also getting the jackpot on Pinball Circus (at least the first time)
Multiball aint a mode so I it cant be included in this thread imo. In terms of modes, good ones are always ones you need to complete. Eg: STTNG for the singing stones etc, LOTR for the GOTE. I like shadows modes as they have great sound and DMD graphics. Rope bridge on IJ is fun, Q is good on sttng as the shots change, Dirty Harry also has some funny modes (scratch one dirtbag).
Quoted from generica:Mulitball rules are even better. I wish every stern had at least one multiball that followed the two towers "combo multiball" rules
A big +1. 2 tower multi-ball is the best mode. Get the extra ball in play and it triple jackpot time. Once MB is completed you’re up for SUPER JACKPOT WHOOWH WHOOWH WHOOWH!! My favorite part of the whole game.
Quoted from pinheadpuckguy:I love the Warg Battle on LOTR
Another great mode. Its just fun to hit that left ramp to start it and after you hit all your shots its just very satisfying.

One of the easy modes in the game. Not my fav but I can see where your coming from. 3 shots all go to that tower or you can just back hand it in for many souls. When I start this mode it almost always give you ROTK multi-ball.
Even tho I hate the game I still enjoy SHOWTIME on TAF.
No Fear's Meet Your Maker is great.
Quoted from Eskaybee:LoTR is the king of modes IMO. Ring wraiths and TABA are my personal favorites.
Have to agree, and reading this thread reminded me of how many great modes there are on LOTR. Sheesh....making me miss it even more.
Quoted from soren:Are we excluding wizard modes. Else I don't see much competition to Cirqus Voltaire.
You can post whatever you like. I was talking modes not Wizard Modes. We could start a thread about that.......it might have already been done though.
Quoted from pascal-pinball:seance...knock three times...
Love this one as well, who doesn't love hearing that knocker thwackkkk!!
Tough choice selecting a favorite mode, but The Two Towers multiball is easily my favorite multiball. Want that 84x combo so bad!

I think Skill Fire on Congo is fun, lucrative and very creative. No other game has a specific mode for all skill shots.
I love spot the tell on wpt. Lyman gary keith andnthebstern guys faces in a row and you have to spot whichbone has the tell and shootbthe corresponding ramp.
