Arduino based Bally stern OS (BSOS) for the classic Bally and stern solid state games. For cheep you add rules, music and call outs to a game that never had them. Total game changer for less than you would spend swapping all the lighting over to LEDs (which is another great mod - cooler, lower power, brighter, more options)

    Quoted from Mbecker:

I feel like while colordmd, invisiglass, and speaker / Audio enhancments are technically ‘mods’ — I see them more as ‘upgrades’ vs mods. Powder coating is kinda borderline.

I look at it differently. To me a 'Mod' is something that modifies function or behavior. Something that only changes appearance is a decoration.

    Quoted from Tuna_Delight:

I was surprised how much of a difference Cleland's audio made on my TWD. The game's vibe was improved 100% for me!

Cleland audio changes to GOTG vastly improve the experience. Night and day difference.

    Homemade/Aftermarket Toppers. Not for me.

I think you meant to enter that in the 'Worst Mod Ever' thread

    Quoted from TheLaw:

I just did, they really do hold their value. And no one has ever accused me of liking mods too much

    Quoted from alexanr1:

You will have to share the research you have done. My comment was I don’t believe. Would love to see the data.
In all honesty, it’s hard to say an of the mods hold their value.

Really of any mod, I think this is the only one where you can raise the price of your machine almost dollar for dollar and get it back without a fuss from a buyer or even when trading in to a distributor. Pretty much every other mod is money down the drain because they don’t have the almost universal appeal of a color dmd.

    Quoted from EternitytoM83:

Does Pin Monk's quiet fan kit for Stern power supplies count as a mod? If so, I vote for that. Damn things sound like a hairdryer without it.

For home use these are great. I just bought 2 more to install in my AIQ and JDJP
