I haven't read all the latest posts, so apologies if It has been mentioned already.

I just noticed that Sterns next game will be the fourth Star trek themed pinball. Bally, Data East and Williams have used this license before, is there any other license that has four different pinball machines??

I'm not a big Trekkie, but it IS clearly a great theme with a massive fan base. I predict big sales and maybe some new pinheads in the near future.

    Well done Stern!!! Great plan.

    Playboy's had 3 hasn't it?

Harley Davidson too, but not really sure if that counts...were those actually different in any way other than the name? (1st ed, 2nd ed, 3rd ed)?

ESB is a solid state, but early and not very fun IMHO

You forgot the one made by Sonic in '87, so there's actually 5 Star Wars machines.

Yes, Sonic was a Spanish company back in the 70's-80's. Here's a link to their version of Star Wars: http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=4513

IIRC there are boatloads of poker-themed and pool-themed pins, but that doesn't really quite count as a 'license', per se.

TAF thread over. Still more machines of this title than any.

IPDB lists the following Star Wars related games:

Force by LTD (Brazil), probably late 70s / early 80s
Space Gambler by Playmatic (Spain), 1978
The Empire Strikes Back by Hankin (Australia), 1980
Star Wars by Sonic (Spain), 1987
Star Wars by Data East, 1992
Star Wars Trilogy by Sega, 1997
Star Wars Episode 1 by Williams, 1999

The first two may not necessarily be official licensed themes.

    Arnold Schwarzenegger:
World Defender by Nuova Bell Games (Italy, possibly not an official license)
    Terminator 2
    Terminator 3
    Last Action Hero

    Harrison Ford:
    Star Wars by Data East
    Star Wars Trilogy by Sega
    Indiana Jones by Williams
    Indiana Jones by Stern

Unigroove tally the totals of all SW games combined?

Keep in mind that is a franchise not singular license.

    TAF FTW =)

    #26 10 years ago

    TAF 20270 units

    DE SW 10400 units
    Episode 1 3525 units
    Empire SB 350 units

Sonic and force have no numbers and we are talking 5 different lisences.
