Post YOUR best LEDed playfield pic. Doesn't matter the pin title, but the more diversity, the better. It would be nice to see what CAN be done with LEDs on various playfields. The only criteria (beyond LEDing your playfield first) is to make sure your pics are decent quality and in focus. No Cell pics please. I'll start with 2, Congo and Johnny Mnemonic:

This isn't being snarky, but is that JM even playable in the dark? I would lose the ball in about a half a second looking at that pic...

Nope. I LEDed it and completely stopped playing it. Thanks for your insight.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't specific enough in my question....

To rephrase-

When playing in the dark, do you find that you lose the ball when it passes over the inserts in the middle of the playfield? In the picture, the middle of the playfield looks very dark.

That was done by design, specifically so I did not have to look at Keanu's mug anymore.

Space Station with Cointaker cool white frosted in the GI. GI string #2 done in Green frosted Cointakers and looks very cool. A mix of incandescents and LED's in the inserts. Resist the urge to color bomb your game and it can look great with LED's.

Nice on the F14. Those arrow inserts look sweet. I also like the half blue/half red in the rear GI.

Sweet Moses! That F-14 looks bad ass.

This isn't the best shot to show off ALL the LED's in my CV, but you get the point.

^^This

To me, 'tasteful' LEDs come with discretion. Apply a theme, not a smattering of as many colors as you can find. F-14 is great with red/white/blue. If you're using more than 3-4 colors, you may want to reconsider.

F14

That looks perfect with no annoying hot spots.

Here is one of my ToM.

MB looks awesome with LEDs. Some games do, some games don't.

It is totally easy to play on these without going blind lol, the camera may add a lil more glow to it.

On the shadow, i added like 6 spotlights on the game to brighten it up, those diverter ramps are tough to see in the dark, but with the spotlights and CT ultra brights, its the only way i play it now. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg

I know a lot of you think LEDs on EMs is just wrong, but I loved how my Gulfstream turned out.

Awesome pics guys. Several standout machines there...

#35 11 years ago

Wow! These are badass!!! Are these kits, or your own vision?

#36 11 years ago

Couple of mine. What I want to know is what setting you all are using on your camera's to take your picks. I'm using a Cannon SLR and as you can tell the pics don't come out all that good. I'm a camera newbee though.

As a *very* amateur photographer - I know it's hard to capture photos of lights- and get an accurate exposure.

I suspect a few of these photos (some that look you're staring into the sun ) are not so overwhelming in reality...

Here is pics of my Space Shuttle and Road Kings.

Space Shuttle GI is lamped with CT frosted cool white and blue 50/50, Ramp target is glow painted and lit with UV super from PBL. Inserts are lit with a mix of CT frosted and PBL flat top frosted cool white, pops are cool white PBL F'n brights, ball saver (Shield) is color matched with frosted CT orange and the shuttle ramp insert is lit with dual color changers from PBL. Shuttle in backglass is lit with CT frosted cool white and the rest is incandescent.

Road Kings GI is lamped entirely with CT clear warm whites 2 led, Pops are warm white frosted CT, Bonus inserts 1-10 are cool white frosted CT's and rest of the inserts are color matched with CT frosted. Backbox is incandescent.

I went for a more sci-fi space look for Space Shuttle while keeping traditional with Road Kings. I shot these pictures with a Canon DSLR with an ultrawide 8mm fisheye and adjusted the exposure to match as close as possible how the games are seen by eye.
