I'm curious on Pinsider's opinions relating to the most fun and entertaining multi player E.M pinball...
I have tried Gottlieb Super Spin, Gottlieb card whiz and Gottlieb Super Soccer.
I have a hard time choosing which of these 3 are more fun. I really like nailing the two metal spinners on the Super soccer and scoring mechanical bonus balls in the head board .. I like the rule set on Super Spin, and card whiz is so fun.

I will start off and pick Gottlieb Super spin & Gottlieb Super soccer as the most fun that I played.....

    Williams Olympic Hockey

Surfer/Surf Champ is a good one!
Hot Tip EM is pretty fun too.

    Joker Poker

It's a different game every ball since the 5x moves around.

Fast Draw or Grand Prix (rewired to change the rules).

    #7 2 years ago

Playing with buddies- super soccer is really fun. Watching the bonus ball count down on close games is very fun.
Williams Big Deal is also a fun muti player

    #8 2 years ago

Gottlieb Soccer and Out of Sight are two that I really enjoy playing head to head.
Scuba is a newer one on location and once the rules are explained, has gotten a TON of play.
If you hate your friends, play Interflip Dragon w a Powerball

This is one that I’m going to have to play in the next year. I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about it

    What rules need changed?

    #11 2 years ago
    Quoted from Black_Knight:

    What rules need changed?

    1. More spinner revolutions to advance bonus.

    2. Have to complete all four A-B-C-D drop targets to advance star insert for double bonus, repeat to get EB and again for Replay.

‘77 Big Deal and 300-(3 ball) are the competition favorites in my house.

I like those, is there a link somewhere?

Mars Trek, Big Shot, Strike Zone.

    #16 2 years ago

For the 1960's? Surf Side. Best 2-player of that decade, period. But ONLY fun with two people! A-Go-Go and Expo also very good when dialed in. Cosmos for honorable mention.

1970's? Out of Sight/Far Out, Sinbad (SS version), Joker Poker (SS version), Skyrocket, Wizard!, Old Chicago, Freedom (prototype), Aztec, Space Odyssey/Mission

I guess you've never played "Pleasure Isle" or the replay version "Paradise". Both totally gorgeous, and awesomly great players. "Surf Side" is good, but "Pleasure Isle" is the bomb!

Played Paradise but always thought it was a great looker and just OK player. Haven't tried Pleasure Isle yet... will have to give that one a go.

I'll 2nd Pleasure Isle. I also have Paradise, but haven't set it up.
Bristol Hills was a pleasant surprise.
But for games that pop up a little more often, there's a few,
but off the top, (and already mentioned), can't go wrong with
    Surfer/Surf Champ..

Unbelievable collection Mr *kangourou* is it pretty easy to find games 1970s games in France or are alot of them shipped and imported in from USA? Gemini is pretty rare to begin with. Canada Dry was actually made for France.

All my rarities do not come from France :
    Charlie's Angels from Chile
    Space Walk from Argentina
Dragon from USA and Gemini + Solar Ride from Classic Pinball Corporation NJ (Gemini belonged to Mark Clayton)
    (Jacks Open from England)

It is not easy to find Canada Dry with us, even though all of them were produced for the French market, but I had the opportunity to sell one in USA and one in Canada !

    Beautiful set up!

    #26 2 years ago

Add a +1 for grand prix. Never gets old. Can be set up to play mean and fast without modifying rules imo. Aspects of this layout are shared with numerous wms games of the Era.. I particularly like the Outlane set up and opportunity to save the ball at times.

Most underrated multiplayer probably goes to jumping jack / jack in the box. Just amazing 10 bank of drops with great supporting rules...

Super score. I like the backglass not just for the ladies but the playfield inserts are wired into the glass as well. A game within a game within a game and there are other GTB machines in the glass.

Also it’s a fun playing game.

    #30 2 years ago

    Williams Lady Luck.
Playing with someone who understands the rules, you really get a sense of "21" competition and casino gambling.
Set up correctly extra balls are awarded and the Dealer busts make it really evenly scored and competitive.

    #31 2 years ago

Hot Tip EM. It’s the only EM ever made with drop targets, captive ball, and spinner in the same machine. Lots to shoot for and a good ruleset. After I couldn’t get enough of it two years in a row at ReplayFX I made a concerted effort to get one. It’s still my favorite EM I’ve ever played.

    Agreed, also Fire Queen!

Gottlieb Paradise and Masquerade are decent multi-player games for a simple reason: You can’t afford to drain the ball and leave your opponent with a chance to achieve the 100x bonus that you worked so hard to build. The same is true of Bally’s Fireball. Lock two balls and drain, then you give your opponent a chance to capitalize.

    #35 2 years ago

    Quick Draw/Fast Draw for me.

Surfer/Surf Champ is another of my favorites.

    #36 2 years ago

    Hot Tip all the way

I'll third the Pleasure Isle. My favorite AAB and one that was deserving of the full resto by Nick Raschilla several years ago. Game has multiple animations: Hula dancer in the backbox, and a rotating AAB counter that counts extra balls (up to 5 per play!). Also has playfield kickers to advance the pinball to adjacent holes (similar to Kings and Queens), and a projection roto unit under the playfield to assign values to the kick out holes.

Always the busiest game when I have the gang over...

A sweet game - love the artwork and theme!

Near the top of my grail list when I was big into EM collecting. Never did score one unfortunately.

For a unique experience designed especially for multiple players, check out San Francisco! I would’ve kept it if anybody else in my household would play pinball. But alas, I am alone in my geekdom. SF isn’t quite as fun as a single player. I give Old Chicago first place for a game that holds up both ways: single or multiple players with a nice balance of skill vs luck and a fabulously unique layout.

Oh man.. Yeah totally agree. One of the few where because of the Backbox feature, the state that it is left in will directly impact the other player. Can be dialed in to be quite lively.

If you skip to this video half way, I caught this amazing game on it... So much fun.

How come on e.m top 100 there's a huge grading difference between 1975 gottlieb fast draw(4player version) and Quick draw(2 player version) ??? I thought the difference is 2 vs 4 player? Same rule set?? What gives???

Game ratings are subjective and done per title, even if the 2/4 player is the same and usually is with EM's except for a few rare birds.

I only rate the games I've played as many others do.

Usually, the only slight edge a 2 player game has is less artwork removed due to 4 player score reels vs a 2 player version.

The drop target mod would definitely make it harder.

I don't get the spinner issue though. Mine really rip. I can max the bonus with one solid hit.

Grand Prix gets my vote. I keep thinking I'm going to sell it, then I'm going to restore it, then I'm going to sell it, rinse and repeat. The fact that it's still here I guess means it's going to get restored at some point.

She's is nasty when she wants to be....but Cleopatra.

    #46 2 years ago

Gawd I wish I still had my San Francisco! The bg pointer feature which lights all kinds of different playfield stuff is so perfect for a 2 player game! Can't leave that pointer on C for the next guy! But I traded mine years ago to our lamented brother O-Din for my beloved Teacher's Pet, so...

However, the best 2 player competition machine is... Oh Boy. IYKYK. A couple three years ago in the camp at GSPF, more money went across that glass than I paid for the machine.

    #47 2 years ago

    Delete. Doh!

    #48 2 years ago

1967 Gottlieb Surf Side > ALL....like Nic Volta said...must be played as a 2 player game.

    #49 2 years ago

Surfer / Surf Champ. Great theme with drop targets.

For me.... Fast Draw is the best ! ... after making some improvements ... I was 20 when this game came in France.... How many Francs, I spent in this game. Now, it's free !
