Two concerts stood out:

Back in 1986 I was in college... worked on the "concert" committee for the NIU student union. We had lots of good shows, but the one that stood out was Cheap Trick. At the end of the show, I had to move Rick Nielsen's five neck guitar... dropped it... but I'm sure it was "ok". I had most of their vinyl at that time and I remember the concert sounded EXACTLY like the records; they did not play the audience which was a bummer. The only thing that made it a killer show was the energy that they put forth.... the stage was covered in guitar picks

This summer I saw Florence and the Machine at "The World"... or as these brand-oids like to call it..."The Hollywood Amphitheater". By far, the best show I've ever seen. She was AMAZING! and yes, I am over 19

I guess this crowd would not want to hear about the Yo-Yo Ma concert I went to.

Third row - dead center.

I could see the maker stamp of his cello through the F-hole

Most Excellent!

Well not the best concert ever but I guess it just means I consumed a lot of alcohol in the late 80's/90's...as I really expected to "know" a lot more of the music this weekend.

Last night I was at Naperville's Ribfest in the Sponsor tent. The beer was free and the sound was a "ok". But...

The Romantics
Flock of Seagulls
The B52s

All still had a great sound but there were only a few songs that I really knew/liked from each. Although the B52s ruled the evening; the light show was simple but extremely fun, great costumes and a ton of energy! Even though I did not know a majority of their songs it was super fun since most of their stuff sounds the same with the same energy, so a lot of dancing regardless.

Back in the 80's my wife and I went to a lot of weddings (we all got married the same time).
"What I like about you" was our favorite dance song. And who would not love Love Shack/Rock Lobster!
