any mod that's WAY overpriced. fixing up a beater TZ and making my own DIY mods. making a gumball mod w/ color changing LEDs. price of parts i don't already have around lying around is $5-10 at the most. camera mod: $5-ish for a cheap camera keychain from a hong kong seller. started researching the TV mod and looks like i could do it for under $50 easy. if you know basic electronics and how to solder, these mods are super cheap. and you have a whole forum of folks to help too.

on the other hand, you have the piano mod, which can be gotten for less than $100 and considering the work and specialized tools that go into molding, it's not a bad price.

action figures: a couple is okay, but can easily go overboard. whoever limited it to Todd McFarlane figures had a good point. way better than some cheapie looking action figure. the marv TFTC electric chair mod comes to mind as a great action figure mod.

    Quoted from Craig:

Good point. What other mods cannot be reversed?

TZ third magnet mod? JD deadworld?

    Quoted from Cheeks:

As for in-game mods, I really can't stand the spiral wireform mod for TZ. So many TZ mods are unnecessary, but at least most of them are merely cosmetic and are replicating one of the items on the playfield/translite, which are from the shows. The spiral wireform is really forced and in my opinion worsens gameplay!

i've seen those but never played one. looks like it would slow down the ball feed from that ramp. also seems like it blocks a lot of the PF. also damn expensive.

has anyone named any functional mods that improve/change gameplay? like the third TZ magnet or JD deadworld?

    Quoted from accidental:

People have said that my JP scoop light mod improves gameplay, making it easier to see what scoops are lit for modes. But it isn't mechanically functional which is I think what you meant.

seems like that would improve gameplay, so i would count it as a functional mod.

i remember folks talking about some kinda bell mod on AC/DC that lowered the chances of the ball draining right down the middle.

would also like some input on if the third magnet on TZ makes a difference.
