I just picked up a Grand Lizard, and I had no idea how much I would love the non-stop action of a 4-flipper game. The Barry O' flow is AMAZING. One shot blends right into another over and over. Smooth as silk.

Can you name your favorite 4-flipper game?

From a ranking standpoint, TZ.

From my perspective, Judge Dredd.

#6 11 years ago

I'd have to give my vote to TZ as well.

#7 11 years ago

Seawitch
Skateball

I also really like Radical! The shots per flipper are kind of limited, but they're really cool shots!

#9 11 years ago

Sinbad!

Paragon is also cool!

F-14 Tomcat

Roadshow or Judge Dredd

I stand corrected and change my vote to this ^^^^^^^

POPEYE!

I will say this does not count since its in the lower playfield, unless of course a mode is enabled which uses both.

Bobby Orr's Power play... for the seventies

#23 11 years ago

TAF or TZ

#24 11 years ago

gtb king pin

Dredd makes the best use of them all in my opinion. So much flow and looping possibilities utilizing all 4. You could combo that game all day long if you were good enough. Fun stuff.

#28 11 years ago

F-14

You can't win - HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHA!

#29 11 years ago

Jungle Queen

#30 11 years ago

That was my second choice.

I vote for TAF

#33 11 years ago

If you are counting mini-playfields, then TZ technically has 6 flippers.

#34 11 years ago

Tie between TAF and WWFRR

#35 11 years ago

Yeah! that is a good one

I appreciate the contributions to helping me understand what the best 4-flipper games are. But I now know I need to start a new thread and ask:

"What 4-flipper game has its own dedicated UPPER playfield with at least THREE things to ACCOMPLISH? Is there a BETTER upper playfield in pinball than GRAND LIZARD with flippers CLOSE together to mimic the action of a lower PF?"
http://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/best-upper-playfield-pin

I examined the playfields in half of the games mentioned above, and couldn't find a dedicated upper PF that compares to GL, surely there's one out there...

I mean, I enjoy playing the upper and lower playfields equally in GL, so it's mind bogglingly good that way. Barry O' is a god.

Try Pinball Champ 82 ? Farfalla ? WPT ? Shrek/FGY ? - haven't checked how many different things you can achieve on these.

The three best I can think of.
TZ
AC/DC
JD

The camera shot while opening to left upper is incredible.

I also vote TZ but I am almost apt to say RS.

#44 11 years ago

TAF. add a poll

#45 11 years ago

Agree about JD.
Skateball is quite good for 4 flippers...why did I sell it...

#46 11 years ago

Roadshow and TAF for me!

Big Guns doesn't get a lot of love from most folks, but I dig it. 6 drop targets up top... bonus multipliers loop around the targets... kill the trolls behind the targets to relight gate.... and vuk shot at top center is achievable from the upper flippers to initiate multiball or fire the king's chamber into action. It's because of Big Guns that I'm hoping to score a Grand Lizard someday.

Royal Rumble is pretty good in this respect if I remember rightly... check it out...

Shrek/FG may also be worth a look...

Check out Pharoh too!! This is more than an upper playfield, and might fit the bill... BK too while we're on the split level games era! I guess these last two don't qualify re what you're looking for though since they don't have a standard flipper layout on the upper deck...

I nominate 1983 Williams Joust =)

Would also love to buy one if anyone out there is tired of theirs.
