In this topic: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/your-top-9-2500-dmds
we worked together to put together a top-27 of 90’s DMDs in excellent condition in the same price range ($2200-$2800).

Round 1: This select group of 27 faced off into 3 groups, and the WINNER from each group made it to the final round.
Round 2: The remaining 18 faced off, and we have 3 new WINNERS. It's now up to you to disqualify TWO from round 3a.
Round 3a: Bottom two were sifted out, and Indy500 removed (disqualified!) (NO WINNERS FROM 3A)
Round 3b: Bottom three sifted out, and top 3 made it to the final round.

KNOCKED OUT:
(Round 1): MSF, STT, LW3, RRWWF, rocky and bullwinkle, Baywatch,
(Round 2): DH, LAH, Tommy, NBA Fastbreak, The Flintstones, Stargate
(Round 3a): Indy500 (out due to price range), Black Rose, Jack*Bot
(Round 3b): No Fear, Tales from the Crypt, Jurassic Park

NOW is your chance to vote for your favorite!

ROUND-4 !!!:
(Round 1 winners): FT, BSD, HS2
(Round 2 winners): JM, JD, WCS
(Round 3 winners): DM, DW, T2

Anyone care to try and pick the trifecta now?

It might actually be more challenging to pick 9th place...

Quoted from Jvspin:

Gameplay I give to BSD (mist multiball is so cool) but entire package goes to FT due to its art, humor and best video mode ever, IMO.
My trifecta is FT, BSD and JD.

Is that how you would rank them, or is that your prediction?

Are there any drops or spinners in the final-9?
I know JD has drops.

Big thanks to the 300+ people that have participated so far over the last 3 weeks to get us to this point.

I like serious polls at 400 votes. This took about 3 weeks to collect, with the majority of the votes in the first two weeks (300).

The goal of the poll was buying/selling advice. I was wondering the top-3 pins I should aim to make a trade for with one of these 9 pins.

I have my answer!

Thank you for participating...

If anyone is debating the final results, feel free to run off a VS campaign of BSD v FT or WCS v JD.

I was really surprised that T2 came in 9th.

Best typically means "most owned" -- (If we remove T2, then) the # of owners had a high correlation to the # of votes...

Top-9 pins by Owners: (percentage of sum of all 9 games' ownership)

1. FT, 720: 15%
2. HS2, 638: 13%
3. T2, 620: 13%
4. BSD, 606: 13%
5. WCS,520: 11%
6. JD,503: 10%
7. DW,446: 9%
8. DM,440: 9%
9. JM,313: 7%

Top-9 Poll Results:

1. BSD: 23%
2. FT: 20%
3. WCS: 13 %
4. JD: 12 %
5. HS2: 11 %
6. DW: 7 %
7. JM: 6 %
8. DM: 5 %
9. T2: 3 %

Thus my surprise that T2 didn't fare better due to ownership. Perhaps a lot of T2 owners have HS2 or FT and those votes trickled up.

I was not surprised that DW, DM, and JM fared poorly (due to lower ownership #'s), and I wasn't surprised that FT, HS2, BSD and WCS fared well with high ownership.

And don't get me wrong. My assertion is not that owners vote for their games. My assertion is that people vote on games that they've played the most. If there are more FT's to play out there than JM's then FT will more often than not, beat JM in a poll...
