In this topic: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/your-top-9-2500-dmds
we worked together to put together a top-27 of 90’s DMDs in excellent condition in the same price range ($2200-$2800). It’s not a perfect list, but the discussion helped form a bit of agreement that led to a decent list of 27*.
Round 1: This select group of 27 faced off into 3 groups, and the WINNER from each group made it to the final round.
Round 2: The remaining 18 faced off, and we have 3 new WINNERS. It's now up to you to disqualify TWO from round 3a.
Round 3a: Bottom two were sifted out, and Indy500 removed (disqualified!) (NO WINNERS FROM 3A)
Round 3b: begins!

CURRENT FINALISTS: (you won't re-vote for them in this round)
(Round 1): FT, BSD, HS2
(Round 2): JM, JD, WCS

KNOCKED OUT:
(Round 1): MSF, STT, LW3, RRWWF, rocky and bullwinkle, Baywatch,
(Round 2): DH, LAH, Tommy, NBA Fastbreak, The Flintstones, Stargate
(Round 3a): Indy500 (out due to price range), Black Rose, Jack*Bot

We now have 6 middle-contenders fighting for 3 remaining spots. This should be the most grueling contest yet...

ROUND-3b
Demolition Man
Doctor Who
Jurassic Park
No Fear
Tales from the Crypt
Terminator 2

*one mistake was made of including Indy500, which is a low production game with a higher 3K range price tag. (It snuck in!)

Our journey started 1 week ago. There is clearly no sediment left...

I anticipate it may take >400 votes to get a clear bell curve here...

This is the final push before the finals... 3 in, 3 out. Good luck beloved pins!

Can you predict the THREE pins that will make the final cut?
My calculations show there are 20 possible combinations...
Which would mean -- the odds are 95% that your guess is wrong... Can you beat overwhelming odds?

JD is a $1400 game folks.

#6 8 years ago

My guess is Demo Man, Doctor Who, and TFTC will survive this round.

Truth. And nobody gave your opinion a thumbs up.
For all I knew, you were "pin-fluffing"...

I'm the guy who spent xxx hours of his life coloring Popeye for ColorDMD. No one takes me seriously.

This is gonna be a long fight...

Votes/day are really low right now.

(just thinking out loud here)

I "could" pull no fear out, and scrape top-2 into the winners box.

Then run a 3c: 3-way for the final spot #9... (TFTC, T2, JP)

Question is do we really want to re-run again for spot #9, or just let it slide and see how this one rolls. #1, #2 and #6 have held since 150 votes or so... All the previous rounds were 150 votes. +/- a little to see the Curve clearly...

I think the benefit is the 90+ participating voters for current positions: 1/2/6 in this poll would be re-voting (likely) for the 3 left, and POSSIBLY help give us more separation. We need separation for #3, and we're not getting it (yet). It's my job through sifting or TIME to get that separation so the final-9 is full of 9 champions and no scrap...

I would just put Jurassic Park at #10 and call it good.

#28 8 years ago

midnight bump. Every vote counts.

#29 8 years ago

I'll let this go a few more days, when the vote advance reaches <10 in a day, I'm calling it, and re-running it... If we don't get significant separation, I'm afraid we'll be sifting, scraping and re-running with 3 for 1.

What a great race...

I'm only "somewhat sure" of two things right now: (and yes this is based on reading Pinside for game-excitement, some production/ownership stats, mixed with recent history on previous rounds in this contest)

1. No fear is not gonna get out of 6th place.
2. Doctor who isn't gonna lose 1st place.

I'm not convinced of DM's position, even though it's been in a constant 2nd place.
I'm not convinced yet that TFTC isn't coming back.

It should be in the top place!!

It's pretty clear from the current poll that all 6 games are very good...

The current results shock me. Demo man is pretty awful, you couldn't sell it here two years ago for $1500. I owned dw for 10 years, not a good game, kids hated it, I guess some just really like the theme. There aren't a lot of shots in the game, maybe three. Moot point, but other than theme, BW is better than both those two put together...sour grapes

Guess I'd vote for T2???

#36 8 years ago

I have to agree with the BW comment. I owned one for several years and sold it. Wish i hadn't. Awesome game. Currently own DW and love it. Don't see it going any where.

I like all the games on the list, but for me 2nd on this list would be tftc.

#37 8 years ago

I also don't get the DM love. Played it a number of times and its just flat. Surprised Jurassic is not fairing better....

#38 8 years ago

On this list, JP has the gameplay hands down and holds its own in my collection. Sold my T2, DMand DW, but this has stayed. My kids love this game too!

Not on the list, but WhoDunnit is a real fun game with unique gameplay and very satisfying shots. These are rare and I have never came across one on location. Once you understand what is going on and how to work the Elevator it becomes a great game. Perfect game for a large collection. Kids love it too!

I object. None of the listed games are better than DH...and none are worth $2,500 either.

Callahan fought the good fight in rounds 1 and 2.

I just notice this read for some reason. Thanks for the update! Great pic. Like the backglass. I happen to be picking up a DH this weekend, so I'm biased.
