Quoted from P2K:I have a spare original Williams MB (the V2.0 board) for a RFM that has the capacitors replaced.
I want to do a benchtest to make sure the MB still functions.
I am not able to put it into the game at this time so I need a basic hookup to do a basic check.
I have an old power supply and a VGA computer monitor but I don't see a way to hook up the monitor. I can't even find a diagram showing which connector is for the VGA.
1) How do I hook up a computer monitor?
2) Which connector?
3) Without a prism card installed (just the bare bones MB with processor) How much will I be able to check?
Thanks in advance for any help on this simple stuff!
Alan
I believe to use onboard video you'd need a special adapter cable to go from the MIDI CONN, or P6 (There are several version of the motherboard, so I can't tell you how to exactly. A generic vga video card is probably an easier route anyway, About all you can really test is the boot up to bios. If you really needed some motherboard testing, you could create a bootable floppy with #Tuff-Test diagnostics and plug in a floppy drive. That would give some basic level testing, memory, ports, etc,, but no native operating system stuff such as sound and everything else that the PRISM card does.
