I just bought a fixer-upper Space Shuttle. All displays work except for the central 4-digit credit/player display. The previous owner said the display was burned out and needed to be replaced. When I took a look at it I noticed a burn mark beneath the glass (see photo) and the ribbon going to the display was disconnected.
I ordered a working display to replace the bad one. Before I connect the new one to the machine is there anything regarding the display board that I need to check first that could potentially blow the new display? The ribbon to the old display was disconnected prior to my obtaining the machine. Is there any potential risk of damage to the new display or will it simply not function correctly if the display board/power supply is compromised? Again, all other displays function normally (except some random flickering in the player one display which I attribute to dirty connectors).
Thanks!
