I try to stay neutral and say your game, your choice. At least it should be easy to reverse.

OC is maybe the most beautiful game ever, especially the backglass. Cab art is nothing special but still, when I think of the hours sanding and prepping and painting mine, and doing the playfield swap, I have trouble getting on board with this one.

Quoted from Dono:

Got pix of your post-restoration CC? Did you do the stock cab colors/stencil pattern or that crazy 5 color gonzo-gangster stencil?

Stock. CPR playfield cleared by Ron Kruzman. New plastics. New coin door. The glass is original and is pristine.

Quoted from Sea_Wolf:

The Ding Dong is going to get an inferiority complex standing next to that.

Ding Dong is a pretty nice game, original playfield and cab was restored by someone else. Some day when I run out of projects, I'll restore the cab myself and touch up and clear the playfield.

It's one of three games from my teen years. I've bought and restored and sold great games like Atlantis but those three remain. Can't bring myself to sell any of them. Hot Line and Surfers are the other two.

Quoted from Sea_Wolf:

I can’t bring myself to sell any of mine either but I think that’s a good thing. Every collection is unique although I did recently trade my Nitro Ground Shaker for a game I loved from my teenage years, a Mata Hari SS.
Like the Old Chicago, I think Mata Hari is one of the most beautiful machines ever made especially the playfield.

I'd like to have one, the EM version.

Bally artwork at that time was just fantastic. Dave Christensen was the man. Nothing quite like Bally boobs of the mid 70s

Not in your collection, but another. I won't post it here, but there is a better version of this glass. I believe bgresto has it. Also the all time Christensen glass, "Big Dick."

The story behind that glass is outstanding. If he tried that today, he'd never work again...

Quoted from Sea_Wolf:

Ha, yes I’ve seen it.
I never though about it but Williams had like zero racy backglasses back then and Gottlieb only had a couple if I remember correctly, Jumping Jack/Jack in the Box and Surf Champ/Surfer.
Sorry to hijack the thread but it does bring back a lot of memories.

David Gottlieb was real conservative and he wouldn't allow those kinds of glasses. According to Wayne Neyens occasionally Roy Parker would push the envelope and they would reel him back in.

He'd have stroked out at DC's backglasses...
