The upper left flipper slowly drops back into the resting position after being activated. How might I fix this issue? Thanks!

Lift up the playfield, move the flipper with your hand, and see what happens.

Compare it to the other flippers. If you can’t see or feel something binding or loose, and the spring that returns the flipper is still working as it should, then remove the coil stop (metal piece that holds the coil in place) and pull the coil off. The sleeve inside the coil could be dirty or the tip of the plunger could be mushroomed (has sharp metal edges at the tip that cause drag as it’s moving through the coil).

    I’ll give it a try...only 278 plays!

My guess is the flipper clearance up and down is to tight or the return spring failed. More then likely to tight. Flipper should move up and down with fingers about 1/16”. Good luck.

The sleeve was dirty so now clean. The spring looks and feels like the others. The manual plunge motion is feeling sticky or like it is just stiff where it is connected to the flipper shaft, not the plunger. Feels like it needs lubricating

Flipper does not move up and down 1/16.

Or it’s just Tight as posted. Loosen the flipper pawl nut and slide it up a little. Sleeve could be bad or the flipper bushing might be gummed up. Don’t Lubricate!

    There’s your issue!

There is clearance from the playfield but doesn’t sort of jiggle like the others

There is Always clearance that’s what the flipper bushing does. Problem is your flipper is to tight to the bushing and binding. Happens often simple fix. Just loosen and add correct gap so it moves up and down.

    Is this the pawl nut?
