Starting my first flayfield resto. Wish me luck I'll post pics as I go. Anybody have any advice for removing the grime on the playfield?

Take your time. Measure twice, cut once.

My 'Standard' procedure for an playfield is:

1) Remove everything from the playfield (plastics, posts, flippers, large rollover guides, etc. I may not try to remove the small outline guides on this game as they can snap when you taking them off.)
2) Wipe down with Naptha or 91% alcohol to remove major grime
3) Lightly clean with Magic Eraser & 91% alcohol (there are a lot of threads on this)
4) Polish with Novus #2 (you can be more aggressive here)
5) Apply 2-3 coats of wax (again, a lot of thread on the 'best' wax. As long as you don't use liquid wax you are probably OK).

Stand back, have a beer and enjoy.

I also take off the wood side-rails, clean, lightly sand and spray with clear poly. Helps them look good next to the shiny playfield.

Playfield is almost stripped and ready too clean. I couldn't wait so I cleaned a little spot just to see how it was going to clean up.

Made a little progress the last 2 days cleaning it up and a few touch ups. Still a long way to go though.

Is that a 4 target roto-target? Never seen one with that few targets. Way cool!!!

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgFinally finished her up everything works great. It's a pretty fun machine those outlanes gobble up the ball pretty regularly. I put green sleeves over some of the gi's to give it a little color. All the stainless trim, coin door and legs are powder coated black which adds a nice touch. I did do anything with back glass yet I'm thinking about ordering one from bg resto and framing the original for wall art. Well that's one in the books and on to the next one!!! Firepower 2 on the chopping block.
