I am starting to tear into my Baywatch and it has 5 wireforms and they are pretty dull.

So I figure this is the perfect game to find a local powder shop and give it a try.
Question is, what color or colors to go with?

What do you say pinside?

My initial thoughts were due to the amount ot wire and that they cross over a bunch of the pf then blending in would be best and to go with dark blue like what is on the pf in the back half.

Others have suggested to go with the bold colors and make it pop, but I was thinking that may be distracting.

Let's here your thoughts. What color or colors do I do?

Too late to add a poll to this thread but If I get a good suggestion and reason to do it then I will go with it.

I have no real affinity one way or the other. I told my wife to pick and color and I would do it, but she is yet to decide so Pinside gets to pick it now

i think i a nice sand color would go well with the theme. light brown with some sparkle to it.

cool idea. Sand like the color of the lifegaurd shack?

More distracting than the 2 dozen other distracting colors/images on that PF?

Tart it up. Yellow or red (or both) to match the boat and swimsuits, and yeah, a tan/sand color on one would work well theme-wise.

Would you do sand on all 5?

My gut says yellow, matching the yellow on the playfield and providing contrast to all the blue.

#8 9 years ago

yellow is too loud. I think the brown might be a great way to go.

any other input?

Also, anyone have a reasonable idea what this should cost?

power coating is a lot more reasonable than you think. Contact Noahfez (paul) from virtuapin.net. He's getting into plating and powdering and prices are super reasonable.

I had a friend do his in Blue. It looked really good.

maybe do the back ones in metallic brown to look like wood. and do the returns in blue to match the playfield colors.

Has anyone tried doing that dip graphics method on metal trails like this? Does it hold up? Might be cool to do the wood grain printing stuff on them.

Any possibility of a picture you could post up in the next day or 2?

edit: is it this one?

I'd just go chrome again if it was going to be grey.

#16 9 years ago

That is the one Whysnow.

Red and yellow mixed!

Can't wait to see it when it's done.

I can't believe you are defacing that Baywatch!!!!

LOL. The wireforms on it are in need of a refresh. I could rebrass but that would likely take more downtime than I want and for a cheap fun game it is the perfect thing to try out some new stuff. Heck, every dollar I put in is like tossing cash down the drain so might as well have fun with it.

I think light blue would fit the game really well IMHO.

#24 9 years ago

Bright yellow, make that sucker pop with all the blue.

going for a lighter blue with a hint of turquoise
